Alexander Dolezalek, (geb. 24. Februar 1914 in Berlin-Charlottenburg, gest. 12. Oktober 1999 in Vlotho), war ein deutscher Jurist und SS-Hauptsturmführer. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war er Dozent für die Geschichte Deutschlands und Osteuropas am Gesamteuropäischen Studienwerk Vlotho/Westfalen.

[Officer of the “Germanische Leitstelle” in the SS-Hauptamt, possibly involved in some manner with the Britisches Freikorps. Dolezalek may have attained the rank of SS-Sturmbannführer and therefore might appear in the 1.10.1944 SS-Dienstalterliste, but I do not have my copy with me at present]

Lieber Hauptsturmführer Dolezalek!

Ich freue mich, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, daß der Reichsführer-SS Sie auf meinen Vorschlag hin zum SS-Hauptsturmführer befördert hat. Wenn wir auch z.Zt. andere Sorgen, andere Wünsche und andere Hoffnungen haben, an denen gemessen eine solche Beförderung klein und unwichtig erscheint, so soll sie Ihnen doch ein Zeichen dafür sein, daß das RuS-Hauptamt-SS Ihre Arbeit anerkennt und Sie durch eine Beförderung für Ihre Arbeit auszeichnet. – Ich wünsche Ihnen weiterhin alles Gute.

Date of death for Alexander Dolezalek is 12th October, 1999 in Vlotho. He claimed to have destroyed a T-34 on the Nollendorf Platz during the Battle of Berlin with a Panzerfaust so, technically would be entitled to the tank destruction badge for this. His other decorations (gained as a Flak Offizier in the Luftwaffe) were EKI, EKII, KVK II. Kl., Erdkampfabzeichen d. LW and Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Schwarz.

The source of the date of death is a Death Notice (Todesanzeige) sent to me by the family (Dolezalek was known to me personally). The action in Berlin (destroying the T-34) came from a personal letter to me dated 25.10.1994. I this he also states that the last time he was shot at in WW2 (although technically WW2 in Europe was supposed to be over) was on 17.05.1945 in Mecklenburg after having broken out of Berlin. A Russian shot at him with a Machine Pistol from a great distance so the attack was harmless and he was able to evade capture. The information regarding his awards came from the Stammkarte in his SS File in the Bundesarchiv.
