Is a bot to fix broken anchors helping dewiki?
[Quelltext bearbeiten]@MBq, Silewe: Hi. Sorry for bothering you. I am a bot operator on several wiki projects. Here lists up the tasks on enwiki. I am wondering maybe I can improve dewiki via transplant some tasks to dewiki. For example,
- adding {{Unsigniert}}
- fixing broken anchors
- fixing lint errors
- cleaning sandboxes
- Adding a topic list on discussion pages like this
- May you give some ideas for these? Thank you. Sorry that I can't speak German. --Kanashimi (discusión) 23:02 21 jun 2021 (UTC)
Cewbot was much too fast
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Hello, Kanashimi, here Cewbot went much too fast with an edit, and this actually made me a bit angry, because I was just editing these section links and the bot’s edit was not as good as necessary:
- Part of this edit have been two changes of section titles. Edit time was (in German) “11. Oktober 2023, 03:00:56 Uhr”.
- According to bot configuration there is a 10 hour delay, but
- On “11. Oktober 2023, 03:01:50 Uhr”, so less than 1 minute later, your bot edited the changed section links in Liste griechischer Phrasen. I was in the same time actively editing the page and so got a message for an edit conflict.
I consider this fast reaction not giving time for manual fixes inacceptable.
Aside from the too fast action there was more to do (confer my follow-up edit), but I first had to realize that your bot does not change the displayed part of a link making it much less useful, though I admit these are kind of special cases here. (@Krd: Das scheint bei der Erteiligung des Botrechts nicht überprüft worden zu sein.)
This related edit was not surprising also too fast (ten seconds after the other one, “11. Oktober 2023, 03:02:00 Uhr”), but I had forgotten to search for occurrences of this specific string and noticed it only moments before starting this report/complaint, so at least in this case the action was OK. However, I had to edit the displayed text, again. On the other hand, this shows that manual editing for this part may in fact the better choice, I am uncertain about this.
I actually wonder, whether a cooperation with aka and his Benutzer:Aka/Fehlerlisten/falsche Abschnittlinks wouldn’t be a better solution. — Speravir – 01:16, 12. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
In addition: I have recently made some other edits related to changed section links and had no encounter with your bot: Spezial:Diff/236539717/237997644 (6 edits in 10 days). This added to my negative surprise for yesterday’s bot action. — Speravir – 03:06, 12. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
For documentation: Here, too, the bot did not wait the period it should have according to its own configuration, especially at least one of these bot edits could have been avoided with a longer delay, even all of them with a delay longer than 10 hours:
- In article AquaDom a section has been renamed: Spezial:Diff/238075133, time stamp “12. Oktober 2023, 06:07:31 Uhr”
- Cewbot edits in Rummelsburger See: Spezial:Diff/238075135 at “12. Oktober 2023, 06:07:47 Uhr”, so just 15 seconds later
- But at “12. Oktober 2023, 06:07:48 Uhr” next section change in AquaDom: Spezial:Diff/238075136
- Cewbot does the next edit in Rummelsburger See at “12. Oktober 2023, 06:08:01 Uhr”, so this time 13 seconds later: Spezial:Diff/238075137.
- Irony: At “12. Oktober 2023, 17:35:29 Uhr” in Spezial:Diff/238091703 the change of 06:07:48 was manually reverted, but the bot meanwjiel has been blocked.

- Thank you for your report. I am checking this out. It is interesting that you mention additional handling, which I have tried to implement. For example in here. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 04:24, 13. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
- I found the problem. I use SQL query on the server and this part of the code is wrong. I'll make some changes. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 10:30, 13. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
- @Speravir@aka I fixed the SQL error and now the robot works fine. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 12:33, 13. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
- Thanks - I unblocked the account. -- aka 09:54, 14. Okt. 2023 (CEST)

Blocked
[Quelltext bearbeiten]I blocked the bot for now, please see [1]. -- aka 09:34, 12. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
- @Aka I guess it's possible that the latest version of the page has been invoked somewhere in the program. Can you unblock it so I can run it manually? --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 14:24, 12. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
- Please do such tests in https://test.wikipedia.org or somewhere else. -- aka 14:28, 12. Okt. 2023 (CEST)
anchors within templates
[Quelltext bearbeiten]I just undid this edit. There never was a broken section link. The respective anchor was within the template {{Kopfzeile Synchronisation}}. Please add an exception for the link #Synchronisation
on pages with template Kopfzeile Synchronisation

Fehlerhafte/Vorschnelle Änderungen
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Hallo, siehe bitte https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Vandalismusmeldung&oldid=240970304#Benutzer:Cewbot_(erl.) - hier läuft definitiv etwas schief. Mit der Bitte um Anpassung und Antwort, --JD {æ} 13:19, 8. Jan. 2024 (CET)
- @JD I've set it to only check for reviewed versions now. This should solve the problem. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 23:26, 8. Jan. 2024 (CET)
Fehlerhafte Abschnitlinks
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Hi, I don't know if you monitor all Cewbot discussion pages, I left a bug report here. Your bot does some misinterpreting which even results in edit wars with editors. --Windharp (Diskussion) 07:55, 7. Mai 2024 (CEST)
- Vielen Dank für Ihren Bericht. Es ist ein Code-Problem und ich werde versuchen, den Fehler zu beheben. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 13:26, 7. Mai 2024 (CEST)
- At least on may 24th it was not (fully) fixed. See for example [2] and [3] where the bot repeatedly reverted to a broken link. --Windharp (Diskussion) 09:18, 6. Jun. 2024 (CEST)
- I just updated the code on May 25th and I'm worried that's why. I will update it again later and let me know if there are any new errors. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 13:57, 6. Jun. 2024 (CEST)
- I have not seen any of the "px" errors since, seems you found all issues. Thanks for the fix! --Windharp (Diskussion) 14:16, 27. Jun. 2024 (CEST)

Fixing Anchor-Links
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Hi Kanashimi, lately I see more beoken anchor links in our lists than usual, that look like they "should" have also been fixed by Cewbot. Two examples:
- this one where the headline war renamed here.
- this one where there war a very small change inside this edit.
Did you maybe change something in the detection algorithm? --Windharp (Diskussion) 08:18, 19. Sep. 2024 (CEST)
- I think it may be because some pages are heavily linked, which takes too much time for the robot to process, and I have a setting to skip too many links. --Kanashimi (Diskussion) 16:20, 19. Sep. 2024 (CEST)
