Diskussion:David Komnenos (Paphlagonien)
David Komnenos (the first of that name who ruled in Paphlagonia from 1204 died in December 1212 - there is an obit to this effect in a psalter of the Vatopedi Monastry, Athos and therefore could not have been killed before Sinope in 1214 as AA Vasiliev suggests in his 1936 Article in Speculum, which last is normally taken as authoritative. I have shown in my article, 'Theodore Laskaris and Paphlagonia, 1204-1214; towards a chronological description',Archeion Pontu, (Greece: Athens, 2003-4), 151-224 that in fact he must have died in 1211 as it suggested by the near contemporary author Acropolites who held the post of Prime Minister (in so far as such existed at the time) in the 1280s when he finished his book.

- I've added your article to the bibliography. As to the date, I am not clear whether you are saying 1212 or 1211. You had better make this change yourself (and preferably add a reference, since, as you say, Vasiliev is thought to be authoritative). Andrew Dalby 01:18, 3. Okt 2006 (CEST)
