Bazzargh/citemark (bookmarklet)
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]This citemark script is a Bookmarklet that extracts useful metadata from most webpages. Unlike more sophisticated tools like Zotero, it doesn't try to make data fit the citation template; it blindly dumps out a useful set of metadata in citation format, leaving you to edit the results. I find that it's easier to remove data that I've extracted by mistake rather than have to type in data that other tools failed to extract.
V111P/WebRef (bookmarklet)
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]WebRef is a script automating the filling of the template:cite web. You run the script as a bookmarklet on the webpage you want to cite. A form will be displayed on top of that page with a text box containing the prefilled cite template. Not all the information can be autofilled on all sites, however it's easy to just drag or copy and paste the information from the page when the form with the cite template in on the same page. For some sites for the script to be able to fill all the information (including the name of the author and the date of the article) you have to configure the script to let it know where to find that information - to do that, press the Site setup button and follow the instructions.
Ark25/RefScript (bookmarklet)
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]This Ark25/RefScript is a JavaScript bookmarklet, very useful if you want to create citations (references) with a single click. If the script doesn't know a specific website, it will capture at least the title of the article and the name of the website. For the moment, the script can only handle a few sites (BBC, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Daily Telegraph, Huffington Post, Huffington Post Canada, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Times of India, Financial Times, The Economist, Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Ars Technica, TG Daily), but the good part is that everyone can teach the script how to handle a new website. If for example you are using a lot The New York Times for citations, you can teach the script how to find the key elements (title, author, date) into that newspaper's online articles and then you can save a lot of time by creating citations with a single click. I am not using often English newspapers for the citations I create, but I developed the script to handle about 30-40 most important Romanian newspapers and that's helping me a lot.

[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]- http://tools.wmflabs.org/citations/doibot.html
- en:User:Citation bot/use by en:User:Smith609/Verisimilus
You can type or paste in only the ISBN, DOI, PMID, or the Google Books URL, and let the Citation bot do the rest.
The only requirement is to use templates for citations: {{Cite book}}, {{Cite journal}} and others. These templates are generally placed within <ref> tags.
Just type {{cite doi|10.####/whatever}} or {{cite pmid|12615090}},
, save the page, and set the bot on it – then the bot will fill in all the details you missed! For example the title, journal, page numbers, digital object identifiers, etc.
