Heather Martin is a british designer and vice president of Design at Smart Design London. She holds a MA in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art in London (1998) and a BA in Industrial Design from the University of Northumbria (1993). She is one of the leading authorities in interaction Design and has created service design projects across all industries.

Heather Martin has further worked as a visiting tutor and research fellow at the Royal College of Art. In 2000 she became senior interaction designer and project manager at IDEO, where she was the project lead for the interactive, RFID-enabled Prada NYC flagship store in collaboration with Rem Koolhaas and OMA/AMO. After teaching as an associate professor at the at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in Italy (IDII) from 2003 on she was elevated to Academic Director in 2005. As she transitioned to Denmark she co-founded Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), specialized in interaction design. The CIID was listed as one of the world’s best design schools by Business Insider in 2012.
