Die Seite soll später unter den englischsprachigen Seiten erschenen. Im Moment wollte ich nur mal experimentieren. Ich dachte, das wäre der Sinn des Benutzernamensraums (?). Oder bin ich da gar nicht drin? Summary

Ecological-economic models are used to integrate ecological and economic knowledge in a formal, mathematical manner. Fields of applications include, among others, biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of renewable resources.

Why ecological-economic modelling

The loss of biodiversity or other ecosystem services generally has both economic causes and economic consequences. Disciplinary ecological or economic models miss out on the respective other dimension and, in particular, on the interaction between the two dimensions of ecology and economics. Ecological-economic models help capture the whole picture (Wätzold et al. 2006).

Typical applications of ecological-economic modelling

Ecological-economic models are mathematical tools for integrated ecological-economic research. Typical questions addressed include, among others, the cost-effective allocation of biodiversity conservation efforts (Ando et al. 1998; Polasky et al. 2008), the analysis and design of economic instruments for biodiversity conservation (Mouysset et al., Wätzold et al. 2016) and the optimal management of renewable resources (Skonhoft et al. 2012).

Mathematical implementation of ecological-economic models

The formulation and structure of ecological-economic models should be chosen dependent on the research question. Models range from equation-based models (using, e.g., coupled differential equations) to algorithmic simulation models (using, e.g., cellular automata or agent-based approaches). The ecological dimension is often described through an ecological model. Ecological-economic models are closely related to bio-economic and system-dynamic models.
