Established in 1985, publicly listed in 2000 (TAIEX 2432), E-TEN has grown to become a world distinguished manufacturer of smart handheld devices. The company's history of success began with the development of the first Chinese language input system for DOS based computers. E-TEN's software was instrumental in helping introduce the personal computer revolution to Chinese markets and became a standard for international communications that is still in use today.
In the 90s E-TEN applied its extensive experience in Chinese language and data management software to develop a range of Chinese language based PDA and IA products which captured Chinese markets, and achieved up to 85% penetration in the sector of real-time stock trading.
With a proven staff of experienced hardware, software and communications experts, E-TEN found itself perfectly positioned to take advantage of the increasing demand for handheld convergence devices that occurred in the late 90s. Building upon the Microsoft ® Windows ® CE platform, E-TEN released a number of hugely successful Pocket PC phones that featured combinations of GPRS, Wi-Fi ® , Bluetooth ® , GPS, and GSM functionality each enhanced by exclusive in-house developed software applications. In 2006, in recognition of the fact that its consumer orientated devices were proving just as successful as the company's IT centric product lines, E-TEN showed its commitment to the consumer sector by adopting the new brand name, Glowfiish, for its Pocket PC Phones and accessories.
Today, E-TEN is constantly developing new devices that expand its communications (Pocket PC Phones) and financial (stock trading PDA) product lines in E-TEN's own brand. Also the company works with OEM partners to create products for industrial (PDA) and DAB markets.
