Cookie Run: Kingdom is an action role-playing game by Devsisters and a spin-off serving as the sixth game within the overall Cookie Run franchise.

Cookie Run Kingdom is a massive RPG & city-building battle simulator.[1] In this game, the player assumes the role of unique cookies. The cookie's skills will improve as the player progresses. The gameplay in this game is divided into two main types namely the Kingdom Development and Adventure. Treasures will help the player in case they got stuck on certain stages, whether it's for buffing their cookies or affecting the enemies. Players can find materials to enhance the character's abilities, which depends on completing stages (Coins, Toppings, Skill Powders) or making use of production buildings.

At the beginning of the game, players receive a piece of land to build structures and amenities and aid the player in collecting resources.[2] To unlock more items/resources, the player must level up the cookie castle, production buildings, and the Fountain of Abundance.[3] Furthermore, players will have to build additional structures to use for either trading or upgrading. Cookie Houses are notable for producing EXP Star Jellies, which can level up your Cookies. Players can make the resources necessary to accomplish multiple requests, like trading. It also has a storage system, which when almost full will not accept more resources, thus forcing the player to either sell/use items in the process. The Cookie Castle can be upgraded when given enough items or cleared certain tasks, the same applies to the offline reward giving Fountain Of Abundance. The player can also expand land when at one thing, provided enough items & Castle level to unlock. The other is to use your team to clear out an enemy-occupied land.

There are eight types of Cookies: Charge, Ambush, Defense, Magic, Ranged, Bomber, Support, and Healing. There are also two types of treasures, Passive and Active. The player has to form a limit of 5 cookies & 3 treasures for each adventure. The teams can apply to 7 different modes depending on how many cookies are present.

World Exploration - The story mode of the series. Players must form a raid team to collect rewards to upgrade cookies. The harder the lever, the greater the reward. Some stages also have hazards, which require certain items (e.g. shovels) to unlock.

Kingdom Arena - Players must form two types of teams: the attacking team and the defense team in order to collect trophies to unlock rankings. One of these rewards are crystals, which are useful in Gacha.[3] Players will receive rank rewards at the end of the season. The higher rank achieved, the better the reward received. Players will win or lose trophies depending on how well they attacked/defended. Whether the player is the winner or loser, the player will earn Arena Medals to use in the Medal Shop.

Today's Bounties - The adventure goal is to go through levels and collect resources, and said resources can be used to increase the cookies' skills. The first level is unlocked before players can collect the resources at the next level. The player needs to clear the highest unlocked level first before moving onto the next one.

Tower of Sweet Chaos - Introduced in Version 1.4, the player has to defeat progressing tiers throughout the tower. Each floor has different rules which may increase the perceived difficulty, like using a limit on different types of cookies for instance. Involved rewards are Star Jellies, Coins, and Chaos Cake Pieces, which can give you special decorations and 2 unique landmarks.

Tropical Soda Islands - In this adventure, players can collect Caramel Spyglasses and Map Fragments to unlock areas. When areas are successfully unlocked, players will receive one among two types of items: Islands or Treasure Chests, both of which will have cookie upgrade items. When one of your cookies are defeated in some islands, they are placed in sunbeds and will not be used until they're crispy again. This mode also tells a special story featuring Princess Cookie, Knight Cookie, and a ton of new, sea-faring characters.

Guild Battle - The goal is to fight the Red Velvet Dragon with the help of your guild members. The rewards will subsequently increase more and more as the guild beats higher-leveled dragons. It is one of the main ways to obtain rewards for the Guild Gacha.

General Events - The activities will be held for a limited time on special occasions. Players must complete activities during the allocated time. The reward depends on the nature of the event, the rewards will take various forms. Special rewards will be limited-edition items that can only be received during the event, such as the Sonic Cookie at Sonic's Green Hill activity.

Super Mayhem - This is a seasonal mode introduced back at Version 2.2. It is similar to Kingdom Arena, but with 3 arena teams used simultaneously for attacking/defending. Risk and reward are both utilized in this mode since it gives them and their guild rewards if done well enough. Currently, there are 2 modes: Dragon's Valley and Frozen Domain.

Cookie Alliance - This is a seasonal mode where players prepare up to 5 Cookie teams and battle numerous waves of enemies. It is unlocked when the player clears 10-31 in World Exploration. Like both Arena and Super Mayhem, the player assembles a team and spends an Alliance Ticket to proceed. Cookies in a campaign cannot change or remove their Toppings, but can still be upgraded or promoted, or have their current Toppings upgraded.

In the past, three witches tried to come up with a great recipe for making magic cookies with ingredients such as Colorful sugar, butter, moonlight, Whisper's powder, and Life's powder. This gave birth to living cookies. They at first are delighted with the new world, but when they realized they're going to be eaten, they fled, leaving the witches with unbaked magical flour. But then, the batter gets exposed to sunlight over time, building more cookies. As generations passed, the 5 special cookies, Pure Vanilla, Hollyberry, Golden Cheese, Dark Cacao, & White Lily built their own civilizations. They are complemented with Soul Jams, which grant them eternal youth for them to rule in harmony.

The witches, however, still have some Life powder, creating what is known as Cake Monsters. One day, a cookie seeks to know why they're made, & after seeing the horrible truth, gets plunged into the batter. That cookie came to be known as Dark Enchantress Cookie. She then leads the monsters to attack all of Earthbread. The Ancient Cookies join forces to fight her, only to get bested by the last minute & got their Soul Jam's taken. At that moment, Pure Vanilla Cookie uses his last remaining power to attack her, causing an explosion that leaves their fate unresolved. After that, their kingdoms had fallen with no realization of what happened. Centuries later, a new light had come by the name of Gingerbrave, as he left the oven & into a new era.[4]

After the cookies build their kingdom for a bit, a Sugar Gnome alerts the Cookies about a spooky sound over at a forest, which prompts the Cookies to investigate. After fighting all the Cake Monsters in the forest, they retrieve a Special Cookie Cutter, which is used to bring Cookies into the world. Upon using the Cookie Cutter, Chili Pepper Cookie is brought into the kingdom. After that, the same Sugar Gnome from earlier informs them that someone is stealing treasures inside the Cookie Castle, where they meet a Shady Cookie and his pet Bat-Cat where they are searching for the legendary crown. Upon finding the crown. The Shady Cookie orders the Cake Hound to flee with the crown. While chasing the Cake Hound, the cookies encounter Custard Cookie III and he joins their team. As they continue their journey, they encounter a village of Bear Jellies, which is struggling to produce Bear jellies. The cookies help to solve these problems and rescue the Maestro Sugar Gnome, Artisan Bear Jelly, and Jolly Bear Jelly that were captured by the Shady Cookie. The cookies were able to solve the problem of Bear Jelly Village but were unable to chase the Cake Hound to retrieve the crown.[5]

Along the way, the cookies discover a sculpture of a cookie with clues about Cookies' past being strong, protecting them together, and defeating dragons. After that, White Lily Cookie reappears and gives clues about the Choco Werehound Brute, White Lily Cookie is said to be looking for traces of her memory and has disappeared. After a while, White Lily Cookie has returned and asked them to join the Cookies journey. While searching for the Choco Werehound Brute. Jelly Wormy, a small jellyworm transforms into his dragon-like form, Jelly Wyrm. After defeating him, the Suspicious Cookie from earlier reveals himself as Licorice Cookie. He then leaves for Pilgrim's Path in search for a legendary Kingdom.[6]

Episode 3: Pilgrim's Path

[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

After the Cookies found clues in Dragon Hill, it was concluded that not far from here was the once prosperous Cookie Kingdom. On the way to the Cookie Kingdom meets Pilgrim Village but a group of Ginkgoblins were blocking the way but they can't do anything with Cookies. Arriving in Pilgrim Village, the Cookies who had been traveling for a while rested for a while and found evidence that the Cookie Kingdom they were looking for. The kingdom was named the Vanilla Kingdom and there was a condition that one had to pass a test before going to the Vanilla Kingdom. So, the cookies set out to take the test. Along the way, they encounter a sculpture of the Ancient Cookies and fight the Ginkgoblins and their Boss. Of course, the victory belongs to the cookies. While traveling, Licorice Cookie tries to stop GingerBrave's gang from going any further by fighting them himself. When the cookies arrived at the entrance of the trial, at the entrance there was a Brown Sugar Guardian Golem, and the first trial was to win a battle against the Brown Sugar Guardian Golem. The cookies were able to pass the first trial and enter the door that leads to the Vanilla Kingdom.[7]

White Lily Cookie meets the statue of Pure Vanilla Cookie

The cookies made their way into the cave that leads to the Vanilla Kingdom. Along the way, the Cookies saw 3 tapestries where the first tapestry was about the location of the Pilgrimage Village and the path to the Vanilla Kingdom. The second tapestry contains the contents of Ancient Cookies battling dragons. The third tapestry is about Pure Vanilla Cookie, the founder of Vanilla Kingdom. In addition to the tapestry, the cookies were met with a statue of Pure Vanilla Cookie, allowing White Lily Cookie to regain some memories. Before reaching the entrance to the Vanilla Kingdom, Licorice Cookie tried to thwart the GingerBrave group, but of course, they were able to defeat Licorice Cookie again and stand in front of the entrance to the Vanilla Kingdom. The cookies got the bad news that the Vanilla Kingdom has been sealed since the Black Powder War by Pure Vanilla Cookie. The War of Black Powder is the War of Dark Enchantress Cookies against Ancient Cookies. The reason why the Vanilla Kingdom was sealed and there were many trials before entering the Kingdom was because Pure Vanilla Cookie had sealed the Dark Enchantress Cookie. To prevent the resurrection of Dark Enchantress Cookies, Cookies had to check the situation and safety before entering the Kingdom. A strange situation arises where some cake monsters are moving in Pomegranate Village, so the cookies must set out to check the cleanliness of the place before finding a way to enter the Vanilla Kingdom.[8]

The cookies can be categorized into several levels:

  • "Common" is the lowest grade when compared to other grades. It has the lowest HP or attack power, but Common Cookies have the highest probability of being obtained from the Gacha.
  • "Rare" is a Cookie that has improved stats in various aspects such as more HP or increased ATK.
  • "Epic" Cookies are rarer compared to Common and Rare Cookies, but they have higher stats.
  • "Legendary" is a Cookie based on the game Cookie Run: OvenBreak which has skill evolved from Epic grade and the rate of dropping cookies is very low
  • "Ancient" is a mythical Cookie from the story. The cookie has stats that are equivalent to a Legendary grade Cookie.
  • "Special" is a Cookie that comes from a special event. It can only be found at the specified time, but skills and stats are numerically equivalent to Epic Cookies. The current cookies present in that category are Sonic Cookie & Tails Cookie in celebration of the former's 30th anniversary.

There are 3 types of treasures: Common, Rare, and Epic. They also can be divided into 2 types of use of properties: Passive and Active. Active must be activated on the treasure before it can be utilized (e.g. Pilgrim's Slingshot, Elder Pilgrim's Torch, Insignia of the Indomitable), whereas Passive will be used automatically (e.g. Old Pilgrim's Scroll, Squishy Jelly Watch, & Gatekeeper's Horn).
