Names on Japanese ships

May I continue in English, please? You mentioned not having seen "odd sequences" of words or characters e.g. left to right or reverse. Happens in the US also! In a bus lane, approaching it from the driver's view, you may see the words painted on the surface in this sequence: "BUS" than above it (in the driving direction): "ONLY". There are similar situations for different traffic specifics. The reason is that the first word you may see for a traffic "sign" is followed by another in the "normal" sequence of "reading a text from left to right"; so as you proceed, you read the words you'd normally read as a printed text on a piece of paper. The fun thing is that when you skip the first word(s) and then try to imagine what you missed when the word "ONLY" is spotted! That's too late, though! Reminds me of a joke from London,UK, where Irish workers had to paint "LOOK RIGHT" at pedestrian cross-overs and they got confused where to paint it being used to the traffic pattern in Ireland and on other civilized (sic) countries that is a mirrored way of the English traffic flows.
