- Thank you for your kindness! But I'm not sure that a translation proposed by you ("aber da kann man nichts machen" instead of "nichts getan werden kann") - this is the correct translation. The fact that "nichts getan werden kann" - it is idiomatic. And this idiom is proposed for the Russian phrase "nothing can be done" ("ничего не поделаешь"). Maybe it is better to remove the phrase - to avoid confusion with the translation? Sincerely --0lesja Sh (Diskussion) 23:53, 25. Mai 2012 (CEST)
- How can I explane this? "Ich schäme mich, aber..." is a composed sentence, therefore if you use "nichts getan werden kann", it is wrong grammar. You could say "nichts kann getan werden". Then the grammar would be o.k., but it would not sound very common, like written by someone who doesn't really speak German. "da kann man nichts machen" is the better choice, trust me. But if you like, change it to "nichts kann getan werden". It's your page, after all. I don't intend to offend you or anything. btw. I'm not a professional translator (and I have almost no knowledge of the russian language), but I'm better than a translating machine. They may translate the words correctly, but they don't pay attention to the context (how could they?)
