Abtei St. Samuel

Hallo AHarnack,

Ich weis leider nicht, wo diese Abtei (St. Samuel) genau lag. Sicher kann nur sagen, dass sie heute nicht mehr besteht. Ob die Rest des Gebäudes heute noch stehen und irgendeine andere Verwendung haben, weis ich nicht, halte es aber für eher unwahrscheinlich. Zerstört wurde die Abtei bereits 46 Jahre nach ihrer Gründung (nämlich 1187) in Folge der Rückeroberung Jerusalems durch Saladin. Die Überlebenden gründeten eine neue Gemeinschaft in Akkon, die nach dem Fall dieser letzten Bastion der Kreuzfahrer aber auch verschwand (Wechsel der letzten verbliebenen Ordensleute nach Zypern). Das ist leider alles was ich darüber weis. Ich hoffe, es hilft dir etwas weiter. (etc. gamma; 13.4.2006)

About the portal Macedonia

Hi AHarnack, you sent me an e-mail yesterday expressing your interest upon the matter of my portal. Well, I have tried my best to modify it to a level of originality, as the portal Macedonia on the Macedonian Wikipedia naturally, must be different (and better) that the other portals of the same name :-) I am very glad that you are interested in our small, but beautiful country and in all its riches. The people on the Macedonian Wikipedia (where I am an Administrator) try their best to put forward good articles about all things Macedonian. Thus I volunteer to translate any article on any Macedonian topic you wish into English (sorry I know very little German). You can ask about ANY article that you would like and AS MANY TIMES as you like, as I have the free time to do it, so don't worry about that :-) I can also research topics which the macedonian Wikipedia doesn't have yet, upon your request. That way you are goning to enrich the Macedonian Wikipedia as well as the others, by giving the idea.

I cannot see a portal about Macedonia on the German lang. Wikipedia. Did I understand right? You are an editor of which portal and on which Wikipedia? Let me know about all the details, so I can access it, so our the collaboration can begin. Feel free to ask me about any pictures or media you may want on Macedonian topics. We have a fairly good collection at our place, but you will have to ask me for it because you have otherwise no way of searching and finding it if you (both) don't know Macedonian and have the font. ANY request that you may make, I will answer within the same day (NZ time) as long as it is possible to do it.
