Letzte Änderungen

• mediawiki2latex ist ein Werkzeug, das Wiki-Inhalte in die Formate LaTeX, PDF, ODT und EPUB umwandelt. Aufgrund kürzlich erfolgter Verbesserungen läuft der Code nun wesentlich schneller. Es gibt auch einen optionalen Docker-Cotainer, den du auf deiner lokalen Maschine installieren kannst.
• Die Art, auf die zufällige Seiten ausgewählt werden, wurde geändert. Dadurch wird langsam das Problem reduziert, dass einige Seiten eine geringere Wahrscheinlichkeit haben, zu erscheinen. [1]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 9 Januar verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 10 Januar. Auf allen Wikis ab 11 Januar (Kalender). [2][3]

This can be a data management issue on Wikipedia as we must always ask ourself if we must introduce an inverse property for cases where we need them. You can use the tool to explore words and their meanings, translations, and synonyms. Letzte Änderungen

• Seiten, die das Inhaltsmodell JSON nutzen, werden nun für die automatische Einrückung Tabulatoren statt Leerzeichen verwenden. Dadurch wird die Seitengröße erheblich reduziert. [4]
• Helferleins und persönliche Benutzerskripte können nun auch in ES6 (auch bekannt als "ES2015") und ES7 ("ES2016") eingeführte JavaScript-Syntax nutzen. MediaWiki validiert den Quellcode, um andere Funktionen der Seite vor Syntax-Fehlern zu schützen und um sicherzustellen, dass Skripte in allen unterstützen Browsern gültig sind. Zuvor konnten Helferleins die Option requiresES6 nutzen. Diese Option ist nicht mehr erforderlich und wird in Zukunft entfernt. [5]
• Bot-Passwörter und Nur-Besitzer-OAuth-Verbraucher können nun auf die Bearbeitung bestimmter Seiten beschränkt werden. [6]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 16 Januar verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 17 Januar. Auf allen Wikis ab 18 Januar (Kalender). [8][9]
• Ab dem 17. Januar wird es nicht möglich sein, sich von einigen bestimmten alten Versionen des Browsers Chrome (Versionen 51–66, veröffentlicht 2016–2018) aus anzumelden. Zusätzlich müssen sich Nutzer von iOS 12 oder Safari auf Mac OS 10.14 möglicherweise in jedem Wiki einzeln anmelden. [10]
• Das Modul jquery.cookie ist seit letztem Jahr veraltet und wurde durch mediawiki.cookie ersetzt. Es wurde nun ein Skript ausgeführt, das alle noch vorhandenen Nutzungen ersetzt. Diese Woche wird das temporäre Alias entfernt. [11]

• Wikimedia Deutschland arbeitet daran, die Wiederverwendung von Einzelnachweisen zu vereinfachen. Sie suchen nach Personen, die daran interessiert sind, an individuellen Video-Anrufen zur Benutzerforschung im Januar und Februar teilzunehmen.

• Ab Montag, dem 29. Januar, werden alle Zeitstempel in Nachrichten auf Diskussionsseiten zu einem Link. Dabei handelt es sich um einen Perma-Link auf den Kommentar. Er ermöglicht es Benutzern, den gesuchten Kommentar auch dann zu finden, wenn er auf eine andere Seite verschoben wurde. Dies betrifft alle Wikis außer die Englischsprachige Wikipedia. Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 30 Januar verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 31 Januar. Auf allen Wikis ab 1 Februar (Kalender). [16][17]
• Am 1. Februar wird ein Link zum "Werkzeuge"-Menü hinzugefügt, über den ein QR-Code heruntergeladen werden kann, der auf die Seite verlinkt, die gerade betrachtet wird. Es wird auch eine neue Spezialseite Spezial:QrCode geben, um QR-Codes für jede Wikimedia-URL zu erzeugen. Dieser Wunsch belegte Platz 19 in der Umfrage zur Community-Wunschliste 2023. [18]

Letzte Änderungen

• Die Versionsgeschichten in der mobilen Ansicht nutzen nun das gleiche HTML wie die Desktop-Versionsgeschichten. Wenn du von Problemen mit Bezug zur Nutzung der Versionsgeschichte in der mobilen Ansicht hörst, verweise bitte auf den Phabricator-Task.
• In den meisten Wikis können Admins Benutzer nun für bestimmte Aktionen sperren. Diese Aktionen sind: Dateien hochladen, neue Seiten erstellen, Seiten verschieben (umbenennen) und sich bedanken. Das Ziel dieser Funktion ist, es Admins zu ermöglichen, Sperren anzuwenden, die für die Aktivitäten des gesperrten Benutzers angemessen sind. Erfahre mehr über "Aktions-Sperren". [20][21]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Permalinks auf Diskussionsseiten, die diakritische Zeichen und nicht-lateinische Buchstaben enthalten, haben nicht richtig funktioniert. Dieses Problem ist nun behoben. [24]

Zukünftige Änderungen

• 24 Wikipedias mit Einzelnachweis-Tooltips als Standard-Helferlein wird empfohlen, die Standard-Konfiguration zu entfernen. Dadurch würde die Einzelnachweis-Vorschau zum neuen Standard für Einzelnachweis-Popups werden, was zu einer konsistenteren Erfahrung über Wikis hinweg führen würde. Für 46 Wikipedias mit weniger als 4 Benutzeroberflächenadministratoren ist die Änderung bereits für Mitte Februar geplant, sofern es keine Bedenken gibt. Das ältere Helferlein Einzelnachweis-Tooltips wird weiterhin nutzbar bleiben und diese Funktion überschreiben, wenn es in deinem Wiki verfügbar ist und du es in deinen Einstellungen aktiviert hast. Letzte Änderungen

• Das Aufteilungsexperiment des WDQS-Graphen funktioniert und wird auf 3 Testservern geladen. Das verantwortliche Team testet die Auswirkungen der Aufteilung und benötigt Rückmeldungen von WDQS-Benutzern über die Benutzeroberfläche oder programmatisch über verschiedene Kanäle. [27][28][29] Die Rückmeldungen der Benutzer werden die Auswirkungen verschiedener Anwendungsfälle und Arbeitsabläufe rund um den Wikidata-Abfragedienst validieren. [30][31]

Probleme

• Es gab einen Fehler, der sich auf die Darstellung besuchter Links ausgewirkt hat, wenn mit einem mobilen Gerät auf Wiki-Seiten zugegriffen wurde. Dadurch erschienen die Links schwarz; dieses Problem wurde behoben.

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 13 Februar verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 14 Februar. Auf allen Wikis ab 15 Februar (Kalender). [32][33]
• Da die Arbeiten an der Abschaltung der Grid-Engine fortgesetzt werden,[34] werden Werkzeuge auf der Grid-Engine ab dem 14. Februar 2024 eingestellt. Wenn du Werkzeuge aktiv migrierst, kannst du nach einer Fristverlängerung fragen, damit sie nicht gestoppt werden. [35]

• Wenn du die Option "Bei Änderungen an beobachteten Seiten oder Dateien E-Mails senden" aktiviert hast, werden Bearbeitungen von Bots keine Benachrichtigungs-E-Mails mehr auslösen. Zuvor wurde nur bei kleinen Änderungen keine Benachrichtigungs-E-Mail ausgelöst. [36]
• Es gibt Änderungen daran, wie Benutzerskripte und seitenweite Skripte für Vector 2022 in bestimmten Wikis geladen werden. Die Änderungen betreffen folgende Wikis: alle Projekte mit der alten Vector-Version als Standard-Skin, Wikivoyage und Wikibooks. Andere Wikis werden im Laufe der nächsten drei Monate betroffen sein. Helferleins sind nicht betroffen. Wenn du betroffen bist oder die Auswirkungen in deinem Projekt minimieren möchtest, sieh dir bitte dieses Ticket an. Bitte koordiniere dich und ergreife proaktiv Maßnahmen.

Letzte Änderungen

• Der mobile Visual Editor ist in einer kleinen Anzahl von Wikis nun der Standard-Editor für Benutzer, die zuvor noch nie editiert haben. Forschungsergebnisse haben gezeigt, dass Benutzer, die diesen Editor verwenden, etwas erfolgreicher die begonnenen Bearbeitungen veröffentlichen und etwas weniger erfolgreich nicht zurückgesetzte Bearbeitungen veröffentlichen. Benutzer, die den Wikitext-Editor als Standard auf dem Desktop definieren, werden für ihre erste mobile Bearbeitung den mobilen Wikitext-Editor erhalten. [41]
• Der mw.config-Wert wgGlobalGroups enthält nun nur Gruppen, die in dem Wiki aktiv sind. Skripte müssen nicht mehr über eine API-Abfrage prüfen, ob die Gruppe in dem Wiki aktiv ist. Ein Code-Beispiel dafür ist: if (/globalgroupname/.test(mw.config.get("wgGlobalGroups"))). [42]

Letzte Änderungen

• Die Seite Special:Book (sowie die zugehörige Funktion "Buch erstellen"), die durch die alte Collection-Erweiterung bereitgestellt wurde, wurde aus allen Wikisource-Wikis entfernt, da sie nicht mehr funktioniert hat. Dies betrifft nicht die Möglichkeit, normale Bücher herunterzuladen, da diese über die Wikisource-Erweiterung bereitgestellt wird. [45]
• Wikitech nutzt nun standardmäßig den Parsoid-Wikitext-Parser der nächsten Generation, um alle Seiten im Diskussionsnamensraum zu generieren. Melde jegliche Probleme auf der Diskussionsseite zu bekannten Problemen. Du kannst die Erweiterung ParserMigration nutzen, um die Nutzung von Parsoid zu kontrollieren; siehe die Hilfe-Dokumentation von ParserMigration für weitere Details.
• Die Wartungsarbeiten am Etherpad sind abgeschlossen. Wenn du Probleme bemerkst, gib dies bitte in diesem Ticket an.

• Es wurde eine Verbesserung der Benutzerfreundlichkeit von "Beleg hinzufügen" im Arbeitsablauf in der Wikipedia vorgenommen, indem die Schaltfläche zum Einfügen in die Popup-Kopfleiste verschoben wurde. [47]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 5 März verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 6 März. Auf allen Wikis ab 7 März (Kalender). [48][49]

Zukünftige Änderungen

• Am 20. März werden sich alle Wikis für mehrere Minuten im Lesemodus befinden. Dies ist für 15:00 MEZ geplant. Weitere Informationen werden in den Technischen Neuigkeiten veröffentlicht und in der kommenden Woche werden die einzelnen Wikis informiert. [50]
• Das HTML-Markup von Überschriften und Links zur Abschnittsbearbeitung wird im Laufe des Jahres geändert, um die Zugänglichkeit zu verbessern. Siehe Änderungen an HTML von Überschriften für Details. Das neue Markup wird das gleiche wie im neuen Parsoid-Wikitext-Parser sein. Du kannst dein Helferlein oder Stylesheet mit dem neuen Markup testen, indem du ?useparsoid=1 an deine URL anhängst (weitere Informationen) oder in deinen Benutzereinstellungen die Parsoid-Leseansicht aktivierst (weitere Informationen).

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 12 März verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 13 März. Auf allen Wikis ab 14 März (Kalender). [51][52]
• Nach Rücksprache mit verschiedenen Communities wird die Zeilenhöhe des Textes im Minerva-Skin auf den vorherigen Wert von 1,65 erhöht. Bei Bedarf können auch verschiedene Optionen für die Typografie über die Optionen im Menü eingestellt werden. [53]
• Die Farbe für aktive Links in Minerva wird geändert, um mehr Konsistenz mit unseren anderen Plattformen und besten Vorgehensweisen zu gewährleisten. [54]
• Structured data on Commons will no longer ask whether you want to leave the page without saving. This will prevent the “information you’ve entered may not be saved” popups from appearing when no information have been entered. It will also make file pages on Commons load faster in certain cases. However, the popups will be hidden even if information has indeed been entered. If you accidentally close the page before saving the structured data you entered, that data will be lost. [55]

Letzte Änderungen

• Der Hinweis "Sprachlinks befinden sich oben auf der Seite", der im Hauptmenü des Skins Vector 2022 erscheint, wurde entfernt, da die Benutzer nun wissen, wo sich der Sprachwechsler befindet. [58]
• Die IP-Info-Funktion zeigt Daten von Spur, einer Datenbank für IP-Adressen, an. Zuvor wurden für diese Funktion nur Daten von MaxMind genutzt. Die IP-Info ist für Kontrollierer nun hilfreicher. [59]
• Die Grid-Engine-Dienste auf Toolforge wurden nach dem finalen Migrationsprozess von Grid Engine auf Kubernetes abgeschaltet. [60][61][62]
• Communitys können nun Standardgründe für die Wiederherstellung einer Seite festlegen, indem sie MediaWiki:Undelete-comment-dropdown erstellen. [63]

Probleme

• RevisionSlider ist eine Oberfläche zum interaktiven Navigieren durch die Versionsgeschichte einer Seite. Benutzer in Sprachen, die von rechts nach links geschrieben werden, haben gemeldet, dass der RevisionSlider falsch auf Mausklicks reagiert. Dies sollte nun behoben sein. [64]

Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche

• Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 19 März verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 20 März. Auf allen Wikis ab 21 März (Kalender). [65][66]
• Alle Wikis werden am 20. März einige Minuten lang nur Lesezugriff haben. Geplant ist dies für 15:00 MEZ. [67][68]

Aus Reparatursommer wird Reparaturhilfe: Unterstützung bei kaputten Community-Werkzeugen

Hallo, du erhältst diese Nachricht, weil du den Newsletter der Technischen Wünsche abonniert hast.

Du erinnerst dich bestimmt daran, dass wir letztes Jahr aufgrund einer kurzen Pause in unserem Themenschwerpunkt „Wiederverwendung von Einzelnachweisen vereinfachen“ den Reparatursommer gestartet haben. Die Initiative war als kurzfristige Unterstützung gedacht, in der die Technische-Wünsche-Entwickler*innen bei Wikimedia Deutschland zusammen mit den jeweils zuständigen Ehrenamtlichen versucht haben, Probleme mit „Community-Werkzeugen“ zu lösen. In der Zwischenzeit hat das Team der Technischen Wünsche die Arbeit am aktuellen Themenschwerpunkt wieder aufgenommen. Dort liegt der Fokus der Arbeit des Teams. Weil der Reparatursommer aber gezeigt hat, dass es Bedarf an Unterstützung bei „Community-Werkzeugen“ gibt, soll das Angebot in geringerem Umfang fortgeführt werden. Aus dem Reparatursommer wird die Reparaturhilfe.

Was bedeutet das? Bei kaputten Helferlein, Bots, Benutzerskripten und Tools wendest du dich, wie schon immer, an die entsprechenden Stellen innerhalb der Wikipedia-Community, wie zum Beispiel die Technik/Werkstatt. Solltest du dort nicht weiterkommen, dann hast du nun die Möglichkeit, dich an die Reparaturhilfe zu wenden:

• Trag dein Problem direkt auf der Projektseite ein, das Team schaut sich dein Anliegen an und prüft die Machbarkeit.
• Oder du kommst in die monatliche Reparatursprechstunde und tauschst dich 1:1 mit den Entwickler*innen aus dem Team aus.

Generell gilt, dass das Team nichts ohne Austausch mit den verantwortlichen ehrenamtlichen Aktiven verändert. Mehr Informationen zu der Reparaturhilfe findest du auf der Projektseite. Kommentare und Rückmeldungen sind auf der Diskussionsseite willkommen. Gerne weitersagen!
