My Talk page was also blocked by who you know...

Thanks to both of you. Of course I didn't lie about the translating machine. I affirm I never use Google translate but DeepL Translator, a German device. But when a modern Roland Freisler tells you you lie, there's no discussing. Honest discussion is impossible with me as everyone knows. After I was banned from the French Wiki, I kept on publishing there and added 230 articles (including fr:Château de Wressle from Wressle Castle which was a commission) and would have continued if I didn't register on the en. Wiki. No purported "precious" will prevent me to carry on my activity here. Just, since I will publish under IP, the attribution will be lost; And then what ? I have no doubt the stupidity will go as far as deleting good articles with dozens and dozens verified references just because I put them on the main. We'll meet again though.

I note that I am being blocked (indefinitively) and not banned; just a matter of weeks anyway. LouisAlain (Diskussion) 11:40, 25. Sep. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

You are blocked en, so you could appeal that block. It's no time given, so up to you. If you appeal, don't compare to Kafka, or Nazi trials, which can be taken as about the worst personal attacks. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 11:52, 25. Sep. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten
I have no intention whatsoever to appeal the block set up by a wannabe dictator. I still have a modicum of decency and won't stoop as low as to beg for pardon. I stand with my comparison to Roland Fleischer and his ilk because that's exactly what it is and anyway, I don't want to keep on working under the surveillance and permanent threat by sick minds. Actually it's a relief to no longer breathe this toxic air emanating from Wikipedia. The real motivation behind the fassade is not to protect the quality of the project (I've seen thousands and thousands of horrors on the site) but to exert the shadow of the tiny power some detain in order to make others toe their line. I won't submit ! And that's the end of it. Goodbye. LouisAlain (ohne (gültigen) Zeitstempel signierter Beitrag von LouisAlain (Diskussion | Beiträge) 13:44, 25. Sep. 2021 (CEST))Beantworten

It will come as no surprise to you that your talk page is tapped (à la Obama tapping Merkels' cell phone) Part of the message I left here two days ago has been cut, pasted and copied to be reproduced on the A.B. No need to tell you who's reponsible for this elegant move. So much for respect of your privacy. Best reggard to you Kusma !
As regards the infoboxes, I started to add them on my first articles there until Silverxxx told me not to. Then Martinevans123 intervened to indicate such infoboxes were part and parcel of Wikipedia. I was of his opinion but just, who was I to argue with two equally experienced wikipedians ? Since then I've never added any I.B; that's why I often thanked you for putting them where they belonged. I remember you also linked me to a past discussion regarding the use of said infoboxes. Kant would smirk to see what a battle field Wikipedia is. Cheers (LouisAlain). Thank you. Nothing we say here is private, of course. Today: a woman in red, two who died under "in memoriam" and you missed - my first editnotice read: "Every editor is a human being" which is quoted from a comment by Geometry guy in a 2012 discussion on WP:AN. Every editor is a human being, that includes Kusma, naturally. It was said regarding then blocked PumpkinSky (who was unblocked weeks later and went on to write en:Franz Kafka, the most successful article on the English Wikipedia if we go by access on TFA date). I am reminded also of the RexxS arbcase, about which I said that it would not improve a single article, nor kindness on the project. We can't say the same of the AN thread, because 1 article, en:Opéra de Monréal, was actually improved by several users. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 15:58, 27. Sep. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Gerda, thanks for your support but please, please, don't put yourself in harms way. What matters on this site is not the quantity or quality of one's production but one's readiness to submission to peas with an access to the nuclear button. I've learned to forget the "collaborative encyclopedia" or "suppose good faith" mottos which actually stand for "Submit or be crusched" ! You know your T.P is tapped and this message will be read by the Wikipedian thugs whose ultimate goal in not to protect or even less improve the so-called project but assert their pityful "authority" on dissents. At the end of the day, and before they warn their German colleagues, we're adressing admnistrators (hey, who do you think you're talking to ?) of the Wikipedia Foundation, who think of themselves as about at the same level as Nobel Prize laureates. There have been millions of Girolamo Savonarola in the history of humanity (did I mention Roland Freisler ? No I didn't). As Macron recently said : "there are 66 millions prosecutors in France". He was too restrictive. This mindset is universal.

In the meantime, I've started to publish somewhere else like I did on the French wiki 5 years ago and warned the ad. board that I had 200 articles on the ready that could be put in the main. Surprise, surprise, one ad. refused the proposal which led me to put these 200 articles on line without her authorisation and gave the list of said articles. Not one single one of them has been deleted since. Duhh ! Talk of professionalism. Like a banker who would refuse any deposit in cash because he wouldn't like the mug of the client ! Can one be that much of an simpleton ?

For those who will read that paragraphe, in case you don't know, there are thousands of cyber cafés in Paris alone from where anyone can publish on the project you think are yours. Notwithstanting municipal libraries etc. That also will be a good opportunity to learn about Herrschaft und Knechtschaft. But now, I'm being too demanding to unprepared brains.

Gerda, please, don't play with fire with keeping contact with the vilest and worst criminal the earth has ever known, you're not immune from hooligans. Cheers, LouisAlain (Diskussion) 22:31, 29. Sep. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

The fire was ignited here. - One of the turning points in life came when I stomped my foot and told myself stop with the self pity. Which was before pride and prejudice. (He took the pic. But sadly interrupted contact. Last greeting were the peanuts on 2012 Halloween, linking to how he fixed his ban, but the fix was reverted because he was banned. You'll find it in my talk archive. It was then that SBHB said to him what is in my editnotice: "go on with life, have a laugh, don't get too upset".) --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 23:13, 29. Sep. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Anne-Sophie Lapix

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Thanks for keeping contact Gerda,

I've turned to the de. Wikipedia where I've added some missing categories re. French personnalities and "created" two "articles" : Anne-Sophie Lapix and Harry Roselmack, the latter being proposed for deletion, which I perfectly understand and accept. Due to my extremely weak German abilities, I have no intention to engage in long articles which would aptly call for instant deletion so many mistakes and horrors they'd contain.

Anne-Sophie Lapix and Harry Roselmack are well known French TV news presenters, much more so than Annette Gerlach for example whom I doubt all native German speakers have ever heard of.

Years ago I used to follow German TV channels durch ein parabolic antenna in the vain hope to better my understanding. I also travelled to Berlin (West at that time) with the same goal. Well, Was Hänslein nicht lernt, wird Hans nicht lernen (or something to that effect).

For what I perceive, British benutzer Scope Creep seems to understand the situation and has reviewed en:Maria Clementine Martin which I posted 10 days ago. Imperfect of course but with over 20 checked references though.

In the meantime, I keep on translating and posting articles on the fr. Wiki and translating German articles into English then stoking them into my Word library. Will they ever see the light of day ? I have fun with that and don't care a fig about them appearing in English or anywhere else and even less with attribution. The encyclopedia would be much richer weren't it for the short mindedness of some.

"Something's not said but I think it's true" : The motivation of some to become administrators is not only for the sake of the so-called project.

I'm surprised this page in a foreign language is still online. Is the de. Wiki more tolerant as regards this issue ?

That's funny ;) - Happened to me as well: I thought what a poor article only to find out I had created it myself. I should probably stop creating new ones and look at what I did 10 years ago. Tomorrow a major feast day: National Holiday + Erntedank + Concert Day - first after 2019, - Rossini. A Rossini singer is the one whose Omas gegen Rechts button made me create the article in English. I explained how it all began with filling a red link for what turned out to be the son of a bassoonist for whose birthday concert en:In Freundschaft was performed, and when he died Stockhausen said nice things, and died shortly afterwards. ----Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 21:15, 2. Kunstmuseum Krefeld

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

It's a shame that en has no article Kunstmuseen Krefeld. You could begin Benutzer:Gerda Arendt/Kunstmuseen Krefeld, and I help, and when ready, I publish in English. Easy if you really don't care if it comes under your name. When things calm down, Graham87 can re-import the article history. Yes, pointy. I did the same for another one despised and rejected, for en:Easter egg tree. Same for fr:Guilluame Franc, all only in case you are willing, of course. Please sign ;) --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 10:58, 3. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

My language abilities are even worse than I thought: I don't understand your regret that there is no Kunstmuseen Krefeld in English. There is one since I translated the German page as en:Kunstmuseen Krefeld about 10 days ago with 12 checked and verified references.
I am currently in the process of translating Friedrich Wilhelm Graupenstein with something in the range of 80 references. This painter doesn't seem to have that much of an importance but it is nonetheless another opportunity to enrich the encyclopedia with a German related article. If you agree with this way of posting through your German sandbox, it could only apply to rather long articles, with references a galore, I know how busy you are and how overbooked your agenda is.
Dear, you are so right that my looking around is rather limited - I was in a rush on my way out when writing. Sorry that I missed the Kunstmuseen, - no link on any of my watch-listed articles. Sad because too late for a DYK. The French composer was of course a typo, fr:Guillaume Franc. So rather Benutzer:Gerda Arendt/Guillaume Franc. (I prefer that to a sandbox. The specific one will be deleted after transfer.) How is this deal: you do one for me, then I do one for you? I won't do a thing today: concert! - I'll finish a last-day DYK nom, and hope to get a bit done for two composers who died, otherwise plan for enjoyment. I haven't decided regarding Ray's rules to follow #5 (as so far) or #2. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 14:25, 3. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten
Thank you for Franc, now moved to where I suggested. Next time, you please put it there, and in all sandboxes and here, have a colon before "Category", to prevent showing my talk among the French composers ;) - It will take me some time to check it, patience please. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 07:42, 4. Usual thanks

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Your message on my en. TP reached me but you know I can't answer there.

Just for the sake of it: I, very timidly, created three stubs on this Wiki: Anne-Sophie Lapix, Harry Roselmack and fr:Sandrine Rousseau. Of course I knew they belonged to the "stub department" and should be considered as basis for further development. The first one was enriched by two or three "benutzer" and is now the kind of regular article one can expect to read on Wikipedia. It was suggested the second should be deleted until several other administrators played the "collaborative" part and turned it into another acceptable article. As for the third, whereas I thought the Green movement dynamic was of some importance in Germany, one single administrator deleted it without further ado, thus depriving German readers of basic information on a French political personnality (not worth remembering though), opposed to Yannick Jadot in a very recent primary election in the prospect of next year presidential elections in France. Whatever the language, there exists a non-negligeable aspect of amateurism and inconsistancy with Wikipedia. Some people shouldn't be given responsabilities that are beyond their abilities to handle.

Following your wise advice, I pay no attention and let it flow. From the very beginning (over 10 years ago), I never participated to the project to help propagate culture and information to the masses which are far more interested with a Leverkusen/Stuttgart Fussball match than to learn about Emil Schwabe (soon on the fr. Wiki). The only exception would be intelligent and curious young people, eager to increase their level of knowledge.

For what I understand, you were also the victim of an attack years ago on some Wiki. I can assure you I never, ever did the slightest research to learn more about it. My bloody stiff upper lip education again (;-)). LouisAlain (Diskussion) 08:36, 6. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Danke. I never looked at a block log. My case was harmless in comparison. I wanted infoboxes for operas, some were against that and preferred a sidebar (with the composer's other works) instead. I was accused of battleground, and restricted, but in 2021, all these sidebars were deleted. Reason crept in after 8 years. I'll wait for the Petzinka article to appear pictured on DYK to remind a bit more of how unfair it is that en:Carlisle Floyd had practically no ref when he died at age 95, decorated with a National Medal, nor his operas ... - You may have seen the wonderful title of a great new piece of music: This too shall pass. - My plan for today: an opera I have tickets for tomorrow, so Guillaume Franc hopefully tomorrow (if nobody else dies). --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 08:47, 6.
Kudos

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Kudos to your 1.500th or 1.600th (?) DYK (Karl-Heinz Petzinka and Anton Josef Reiss). I learned about Benutzer:RexxS being blocked. It only confirms what I've known for a while: Something is rotten in the State of Wikipedia. As you can imagine, I haven't read all the "literature" that was devoted to RexxS case but the very little I did and understood remembered me of the final scene of M (1931) where P. Lorre is faced with a court of the underworld. Another Moscow trial of its own so to speak. So much time and energy wasted! Some adm. treat the best and brigthest as their employees who they believe they can get rid of according to their whims.

  • "If ArbCom want to review my administrative actions seriously and dispassionately, I'm willing to discuss and try to learn any lessons. But if they want to simply provide a forum for everybody who has ever disagreed with me to sling mud, and then take on the role of civility police, it's not a game I'm willing to play."
  • What a shame. Yet another case of the ArbCom destroying an amazing editor. I'm seeing a pattern form with regard to these cases. I have read enough of them to know that not a single person involved in any of them can claim the high road. I've even had some "discussions" with a few involved in this case (not about this case) and can say, unequivocally, they think they are the Universe's gift to this Earth and nothing matters more than their own ego. I shall leave them unnamed because my intention is not to attack them, only write the truth as it is observed through actions.

100% agree. I feel for RexxS.

Another version of Gemäldegalerie Düsseldorf will appear somewhere today, not to mention your own creations. LouisAlain (Diskussion) 14:09, 9. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Thank you. For clarification: RexxS wasn't blocked, just subjected to an arbcase that looked unfair from the start, and left. We email. 1700th DYK. Read my talk for where the good discussions are. - Franc is a tough nut, - sources disagree about him from saying not notable at all to responsible for many hymns we still sing today. I'll tread carefully. Today, I translated an article from de, and noticed how tough that is. Johannes Schröder, our conductor to be from 1 January, travels here by Johannes M. Schröder. Hallo Gerda,

Still alive and kicking !

Thanks for the above mentionned new page. I looked at your talk page and learned more about some users. I could thank them of course but again that could entail the end of me... For some technical reason (I think I know the reason why but shh, shh.), my IP permits me to participate to whatever Wiki I want. The French one as well as the English one. I don't post on the en. Wiki, a long badly translated article from German or French would be an instant giveaway and deletion would immediately follow. Like that would harm me. The loss would be for Wiki, not for me. Attribution is now the last thing I care about.

Back on the fr. Wiki now. After being banned 5 and a half year ago, some cockroaches there may not think of me on a daily basis and won't notice the afflux of long, referenced and maybe "correctly" written articles in French.

As pertains the German Wiki, I happen to add some categories every now and then but my attempts at creating stubs were met with a call for immediate deletion; I thanked the one who beefed up one of the two stubs I left there but am still waiting for a sign. Not really encouraging. If I sign, my IP will appear and if I don't, it will nonetheess betray me. Ah the dilemna ! Hallo (sounds more German doesn't it ?). Thanks for your work on en:Cologne Cathedral quarter. I just discover that someone - or was it a bot ? - created my register account on this wiki. Something I was unable to do. I've added my own password. Will it work ? I see the discussion on the "LouisAlain case" is still going on the AB. As you wrote sometimes before, it is sickening to look at the collective catharsis calling for blood by a pack of hyenas led by a jackal. This has definitively disguted me to further take part to a "foundation" ran by an army of coackroaches. To add insult to injury, these Stasi like-minded pervs called two French administrators to know better about the vilest person the earth has ever known. Well, one of them has left and the other, all too happy to answer to his masters in their language, "reported" I made a "racist" comment vis-à-vis another user. He was the only one to come out with that one. The mind boggles and then you know ther's no point discussing and even defending oneself. Decency and common sense commanded me to leave this nice compagny stew in its own juice (although I was later invited to return. So which is which ?)

99% of the fun I have comes from translating and working on articles from French, German, and sometimes Spanish etc. The remaining 1% comes from posting them on the main whether the English or the French ones. Now, when these pages are deleted or sent to the deep freeze (for good or dubious reason), it's no longer none of my business; not my lost but that of the encyclopedia. Like I cared about the fate of years old articles I published. Let's the dead burry the dead.

The French adm. summoned to the Anglo-Saxon court is such a simpleton that he deleted something like the 12 last articles I posted on the f. Wiki, including your Gestural Variations. No references issues, no broken illegible French (that pretense would top the bill !), just the cashier refuses good old DM banknotes because he doesn't like the mug of the depositor. At the time of my banning there I made a quick research which ended with the result that an article created by a banned user can be deleted but not must be. Guess what ? They chose the hard line. That's what Paul Nizan called "The Watchdogs" (also know as security gards at the entrance of shopping mals).

That would be a perfect opportunity to expand on the Herrschaft und Knechtschaft concept which so aptly applies here. Mutatis Mutandis, the administrators here (and in other Wikis) are de facto masters of the users who benevolently work for the project under the scrutiny of the "masters". Until the users understand they realize (Hegel's parlance) themselves through their work (and thus attaining their freedom) whereas the masters exist only thanks to the work of the users. Suffices the users turn the table and the masters are left powerless and have no other ressource than to do what the users tell them to : delete my work, I realised myself through my work, it's a given fact you can nothing against and now you're no longer the masters, the former slaves are. Of course, given their position as adm. they obey to the rules set up before they joined the project and Befehl ist Befehl, they follow the line. These are the roots of dictatorship. Tough luck trying to open admnistrator's minds to Hegel though.

In the meantime, user Ingratis has reviewed 5 of my last articles published there, including Philippine Wolff-Arndt. Not one single remark. I wonder why it's still online.

I'm currently working on Hermann Nolte and Ludwig Hoffmann (Architekt). A very long one which will keep me busy for days until I get to Adenauer-Ära and other long and well referenced German pages. Whether they stay one minute or even less on the French wiki ist mir nun total gleich : I've reached "freedom" (in this field at least) and the masters have become slaves of their commitment as administrators.

Slightly mentally unbalanced yes, I make no secret of my condition, but not completely idiot and ignoramus though... :-}

Cheers, LouisAlain (Diskussion) 10:09, 15. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Vielleich kann DDupard französisch helfen? ----Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 21:40, 17. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten
This German journalist page possesses all requirements to be translated into French (references etc.)
DDupard has also been blocked for 6 months on the fr-Wiki! I sent her a message of support which was intercepted by one of the most efficient vopos over there. If that isn't Stasi-like method then what is ? Preventing users to communicate with each others like they were plotting a coup against the institution. She nonetheless read my message and answered in kind on my en-T.P by granting me a "Barnstar laurel" (how long will it stay in place ?). Thanks to the I.P I used being spotted, our "sharpest knife in the drawer" also deleted a dozen or so articles (Gestural Variations included alas). Just what I wrote above as pertains Herrschaft und Knechtschaft : Those whose task is to protect and improve the encyclopedia behave like vandals who scuttle the project. The first time I was banned from the fr-Wiki was a trauma to me. Now, I enjoy the show and laugh at it. Since your talk page is being tagged as well as Grimes2's, I can't be more specific as regards my activity on this site. And we're told Talibans are active in Afghanistan only... Yet, I carry on my work.
I'd like to thank Euryalus for his understanding of the situation but simply can't. Let it be known that since the reference issue became real hot, all my "creations" were seriously referenced (and checked), so the point was doomed. It was just a matter of getting rid of me.
In the meantime, Pierre Repp. Given my very, very feeble abilities in German, I can only rely on the goodwill of some German administrators to expand a stub (I thought Wikipedia was a collaborative encyclopedia). Also two categories added on Barbara Cassin.

Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten

Hallo Gerda,
I made at least two mistakes (and certainly many more):

  • I believed in the "collaborative" motto the way you, Grimes2 and me worked with great achievements in the end. I was obviously wrong. Since 4,500 of my translations were checked by +/- 40 reviewers with only occasional tags that references were needed, I thought that was kinda of a green light, other users will improve the page if given time. Oh the fool !
  • I believed in the "assume good faith" motto. Again, I was wrong.
  • As regards the Lesenswerte Artikel, since I have no intention whatsoever to return to the en-Wiki, I had the French one in mind. Many of these articles probably already exist in English and yet it took me one second to find Lina Franziska Fehrmann. Now, vgl. with the English stub... As pertains my participation on the fr-Wiki, apparently the IP from which I posted since a couple of weeks or so ago (for sending a word of support to DDupard !) will be unblocked next week. We'll see. As I wrote before, I don't care a fig now if my work is available online or not, with or without a former pseudo. The first ban was a trauma, this one makes me laugh like another farcical display of human cruelty and madness. I was badly hurt by the first incident, I feel much stronger after that one. In Hegel's parlance, I've realized myself.
  • I already use the "simple English" platform to prepare my work. I've also tried the Dutch one. It is of course out of the question that I register on this version. I'm through with anything related to the en-Wiki. It wouldn't take two days before I would be banned anyway.
I see you've noticed Gustave Fagniez and amended it. The reason why I created this otherwise totally uninteresting stub (I can only create stub on this Wiki) is that I have started to add the [[Kategorie:Mitglied der Académie des sciences morales et politiques]] where it was needed on existing articles. There are 513 pages in French and now 227 here.
  • When I was picking German articles up for translation into English, I used to delete dead links thinking - out of good faith - that they were then irrelevant. Oh the idiot ! I should have kept my hands to myself ! A German administrator asked me to not keep on this pratice and of course I stopped. The issue was raised here : Kann sich das mal einer anschauen. The seeds of my fall are already planted...
We'll see. As I wrote before, I don't care a fig now if my work is being online or not, with or without a former pseudo. Provided I still have a connected computer, I'm fine and dandy in my Parisian home.

Thanks for the clarification Gerda, my misunderstanding gives credence to those who questionned my linguistic ability to post on this site. I have deleted part of the above message which was a testimony to my bad reading and therefore my embarrassment. LouisAlain

If you have time, I'd like Frédéric Blanc in English. How about in a playground (Spielwiese) Benutzer:Gerda Arendt/LouisAlain if you have time? We could also chat there, to keep this a bit more German. I had to deal with three Recent death articles yesterday, - no time to do it myself, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 09:01, 23. Here you are Madame. Can you imagine I have already forgotten basic English templates while learning some German ones ? Some adjustments may be necessary of course and for a change I have added some (checked !) references. Happy new DYK !
Following your suggestion, I've posted Paul Schroeter on the simple english platform. Please, make it yours if you feel like. fr:Karol Beffa is also available in English with references a galore and will be posted on the Simple English page If you're interested. Merci! Will check. Right now, I'm in the middle of a translation from de. You'd be stoned for having it in an unreferenced state - as usual, the only inline citation was for one specific event, and the source for the staple was in the external links, - but I - autopatrolled - get away with it. Unfair! I'll add more refs. He's one of the three mentioned above. --Gerda Arendt (Diskussion) 11:18, 23. Okt. 2021 (CEST)Beantworten
