- Calm down. Try to think - what is your objective? To get some changes done in some articles in Lithuanian Wikipedia, or just to insult someone? It is hardly possible to achieve both... Try to write your arguments (politely) in talk pages of respective articles. I still have some hope that a peace plan can be found... --Kanterbrau 15:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[Quelltext bearbeiten]Sure, go right ahead and do that. I try not to do cut and paste moves, which is why I did as I did. I've been trying to fix some of the problems with the redirects, and every now and again I come across another. Thank you. Benkenobi18 (talk) 21:27, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
RE:Recategorising anon
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Do you think it is the same user as the accused anon?--Lokyz (talk) 23:28, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. There is also a Lithuanian version of this account - lt:Naudotojas:Tvarkytojas (lt:Specialus:Contributions/Tvarkytojas). Doesn't seem to be very different from the other socks (lt:Specialus:Contributions/Lianzbergis, lt:Specialus:Contributions/Piktasis, lt:Specialus:Contributions/81.130.215.14 etc.)... --Kanterbrau (talk) 00:08, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- This guy made a huge number of changes within minutes of creating User:Tvarkytojas, including some annoying ones in the church categorization pages which I'm trying to clean up. Can we deal appropriately? Tb (talk) 20:49, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I see that you managed to clean up nicely. However, I can't think of a good way to solve the long-term problem... Warning him seems to be pointless (he already received many warnings). Discussion also seems to be unlikely to succeed. It's certainly possible to block the user (many of his accounts have been blocked and there is no administrator willing to unblock them, so it could be argued that there is a Community ban), but he will just create another sockpupet... Spotting each of them is relatively easy in the Lithuanian Wikipedia, where simply perodically checking Recent changes page can work, but not here. Watchlisting the probable targets is also hard - he seems to edit almost random articles related to religion, Lithuania, jews, communism, special services and martial arts... There are simply too many of them. Autoblock might help, but not for long, as he changes IPs often... It looks like only informing his ISP hasn't been tried, and I am not sure that it is going to work much better... Whois shows that some of his IP addresses belong to different ISPs - for example, User talk:212.158.244.124 notes that this address (used, for example, for [1] or [2]) belongs to an Internet Cafe in London... --Kanterbrau (talk) 00:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- There's now User:T bullshider. -- roundhouse0 (talk) 12:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, this is hardly unexpected... --Kanterbrau (talk) 13:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Request for translation
[Quelltext bearbeiten]I am looking for a Lithuanian speaker to translate a part of a Lithuanian article into English or Polish; it is relevant to a RfC discussion on English Wikipedia. See my request on Polish Wikipedia here. Thanks, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 22:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[Quelltext bearbeiten]Sure, if you wish. But please do it; I prefer to see tags removed if possible.Andycjp (talk) 00:24, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I am not sure I know enough about policies and guidelines used in Wikiquote to do that, so I'd prefer to leave it for the users of Wikiquote... --Kanterbrau (talk) 16:33, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Battle in Berlin, Polish troops and template in the article.
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Please review the conversation on Talk:Battle in Berlin#Polish troops and consider if the comments after you posted you opinion have changed you mind. Please post you opinion one way or other to the bottom of the section. I do not think that there is a consensus to keep a banner at the top of the page for months on end over this issue, given the opinions of two other editors who are active editors on military history articles. From his last User:Piotrus does not agree. --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 13:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

[Quelltext bearbeiten]Hi. In the past you have contributed to Orienteering. The article is getting a makeover now; if you would like to help, please see Talk:Orienteering. Thanks. --Una Smith (talk) 20:17, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Good Evening, please, can you translate in Lithuanian the article Martin Weinek and Kaspar Capparoni? Thanks in advance!
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Good evening to you and regards from Campora San Giovanni. I write you regarding the articles of a note police television series: Inspector Rex. For better saying some principal actors of the international series. Martin Weinek and Kaspar Capparoni. Weinek is the veteran of the Austrian series, now real member of the series international, as well as excellent agricultural and theatrical entrepreneur and an experienced wine-grower. Capparoni is the new entry of the series, but he has already worked and he works for international productions and with famous directors, I quote among everybody: Dario Argento. I think that the series will arrive within the winter 2008 thanks also to Rai International, that will be transmitted in 150 countries and in more than 60 languages, among which the Lithuanian. Naturally if you will help me in this, me ricamberò really the favor translating a biography or a geographical article in Italian and Sicilian. In fact on the Italian edition they are biographer and geographer. In attends him of one certain answer of yours I thank you in advance and I greet you from Campora San Giovanni, my village native. Thanks still for the patience and the understanding.--Lodewijk Vadacchino (talk) 12:18, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Helping with articles
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Labas Martynai, you an active editor and your English skills are ok, could you help translating/improving various articles regarding Lithuania its people etc? Starting from these Category:Articles needing translation from Lithuanian Wikipedia, for instance. iki, M.K. (talk) 09:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- I will consider the offer, but the said category seems to consist mostly of articles about painters, and, unfortunately, I don't feel qualified to write about them... --Kanterbrau (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- OK, probably I'll think of something... For example, I'm slowly getting the list of members of Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (lt:Sąrašas:Lietuvos mokslų akademijos nariai) into shape... If the result will seem reasonably good, I might put a translation of it here too... --Kanterbrau (talk) 22:54, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Lithuania–Romania relations
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Can you help find sources for Lithuania–Romania relations? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 23:19, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, some links I managed to find: [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]... Not very exciting, but maybe someone will find a use for some of them... --Kanterbrau (talk) 00:07, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- I wrote a comment at that AFD ([9])... --Kanterbrau (talk) 17:26, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Are you going to vote on way or the other to keep or delete?. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 17:30, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- No, I guess I don't feel that strongly one way or another in this case... --Kanterbrau (talk) 17:49, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello Martynas - you expressed your thoughts about this article at two noticeboards - your input would be welcome at the talk page. Sincerely, Novickas (talk) 16:39, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it did take some time, to say the least, but I did manage to write something ([10])... --Kanterbrau (talk) 00:55, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Ebenezer gyasi CSD
[Quelltext bearbeiten]I noticed a question mark after you tagged Ebenezer gyasi for speedy deletion. You were correct, it was indeed an attack page. In the future please be sure to leave a notification of speedy deletion nomination on the user's talk page after tagging the page. This acts as a warning for the user's talk page. Thank you and keep up the great work. Valley2city‽ 21:12, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, thank you. I actually thought of giving the warning, but I was only "almost certain" that it was an attack page (a part of it made me think that I might have been misunderstanding something) and the wording in the template seemed to be a little too harsh to give it without full certainty... --Kanterbrau (talk) 21:44, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Observations
[Quelltext bearbeiten]I really admire your attempts to introduce principles and rules to various nationalistic agenda driven one day accounts or anonymous IPs. But form my experience I can tell, that it isn't worth efforts and time, as after few days they usually disappear. Better to concentrate free time for the writing new articles. Cheers, M.K. (talk) 20:18, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe. Anyhow, that did have good side effects: I did manage to find something that looks like a good source describing the "Belarusian" views ([11]). --Kanterbrau (talk) 15:37, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Apology
[Quelltext bearbeiten]just to be brief, I do apologize. I saw last night that according to WP policy (even if I may not personally totally agree, in that it could be an uptight view by WP, but it still needs to be followed) "some maintain" is considered "weasel"ish... IF NO REFERENCES are given. Which there weren't. So technically what you (and Diannaa) said is true. Sorry about the trouble. The only reason I'm writing you here is because you wrote me on my talk page.... But anyway, it's fine. I was merely making the point that there is another WP policy of NEUTRALITY in wording, and not to have the tone of endorsing a particular view THAT NOT ALL SCHOLARS OR HISTORIANS agree with. Not everyone agrees that the trinity doctrine was formulated even at Nicaea, let alone before Nicaea. Some think that, but not all. Anyway, thanks for your attention to this. It's no sweat. And again..... my apologies. 68.237.216.187 (talk) 03:47, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Don't worry. It would certainly be nice to write who specifically thinks that doctrine of Trinity originated during the First Council of Nicaea and who doesn't. --Kanterbrau (talk) 19:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
