1985-86 Volleyball European Cup Winners Cup Final

Dear MSchnitzler2000, a few days ago I added the city of Piraeus as the host-city of 1985-86 Volleyball European Cup Winners Cup Final phase, at the article: CEV-Pokal, an information that you surprisingly deleted. Well, those old times there was not internet and it is impossible to find internet sources to prove what I support. However the final phase of that period were held at Peace and Friendship Stadium, situated in Piraeus, such as the final-4 of the competitions in 1995-96 and 2004-05, both won by Olympiacos Piraeus. Also note that many people outside Greece often confuse Athens and Piraeus, considering that Piraeus is part of Athens. However, Piraeus is a completly different city, that simply has been joined with Athens, due to habitation explosion.

If you send me (please) any mail-address at "fran5oly@yahoo.gr", I can send you scanned pages of greek newspapers that prove what I support. Besides, I myself have added the host cities of the final-4 competitions that were held in Greece, in 1972-73, 1979-80, and 1995-96 s.easons

Moreover, there are a few more mistakes at the "CEV-Pokal" page, such as the classification in 74-75 and 78-79 competitions (at least), but I think it was not my duty to correct it, as I believe that there were people to doubt about. I only wanted to help the page (as a greek fellow) in competitions held in Greece. Hello Οσελότος, you have a Greek username and so I'm sure that you know a lot about volleyball in Greece. But we can't just add some information which is not referenced. Otherwise I could for example write the names of any cities in the empty fields of the list. If you have newspaper articles which prove the facts you can add the reference as a footnote (name of the newspaper etc.). I'm not familiar with Greek newspapers, but maybe there is also an online archive. If you want to send scans of the newspapers to support your information you should not send it to me, but to the Wikipedia:Support-Team (info-de@wikimedia.org). --MSchnitzler2000 (Diskussion) 23:10, 21. Dear MSchnitzler2000, I don't agree with your part of view, but I am obliged to obey. I can very well understand this way of writing as in many European countries the clubs get the name of their sponsor, that may change from one season to another.

However, in Greece the clubs have real names that are used in any case (even in Volleyball and Basketball), and they are never called by the name of their home-city. So, this certain club from Piraeus (I don't care about the others), has a permanent name, and this is: "Olympiacos", or better: "Olympiacos Piraeus", and I am really bothered when I read it as Piraeus. (How would you feel if I was referring to Eintracht Frankfurt, as "Frankfurt"? / poor FSV...)

Moreover, how will you handle the case if two clubs from the same city (e.g. Dynamo Moscow / CSKA Moscow, or Aris Thessaloniki / Iraklis Thessaloniki) will play in a certain season at the same competition? I am afraid that then you will have no other way than using their real names, to be distinguished the one by the other. That is why, I call you to review this way of writing, although I don't intend to change it again myself.

As far as the other matter, I really don't get internet sources (that they are many times false, any way), but you could wonder why I added only the certain periods. If I wanted to make a hacking, I would have fulfilled that page with any information. Unfortunately you still don't understand what I explained to you. In the tables with the match results we use the city name as a short form because it would to be difficult to read if we wrote the full name of the club every time. The full name is mentioned in the table above the matches (Champions League) oder in the list of participants (CEV Cup). So everyone knows which clubs we talk about. If two clubs from the same city are playing together in the same competition, we can used an abbreviation like „A. Thessaloniki“ and „I. Thessaloniki“. But these are very rare exceptions.

Ich nehme an, dass deine Frage auf „Volleyball (Halle)“ anspielt. Ja, es gibt auch noch Olympische Sommerspiele 2016/Beachvolleyball. Bei allen Wikipedia-Artikeln zu Olympischen Spielen seit 1996 (damals kamen die Beachvolleyballer hinzu) gibt es die Unterscheidung zwischen Halle und Beach, siehe Vorlage:Navigationsleiste Olympische Spiele Volleyball. --MSchnitzler2000 (Diskussion) 17:09, 29. Olympia-Chaos

Du meinst die Sache mit dem Ersatz für Orsi Toth, oder? So schlimm fand ich das nicht. Wir haben das doch schnell erledigt, erst du mit der Meldung von Gazzetto dello Sport und gestern ich mit der korrigierten Meldung. Nachdem ich zuletzt die noch fehlenden Spielerartikel angelegt habe, werde ich heute und in den nächsten Tagen noch die vorhandenen Spielerartikel aktualisieren, damit sie auf dem Stand von Rio 2016 sind. Als Reihenfolge sehe ich dabei: erst D/A/CH, dann Brasilien und USA wegen der Favoritenrolle und schließlich der Rest. Die Daten stehen ja im FIVB-Profil. --MSchnitzler2000 (Diskussion) 14:35, 5.
