- Kartographer-Karten können nun Geopunkte aus Wikidata per QID oder SPARQL-Abfrage anzeigen. Zuvor war dies nur für Geoformen und Geozeilen möglich. [1] [2]
- Für den Coolest Tool Award 2022 werden Nominierungen gesucht. Werkzeuge können bis zum 12. Oktober vorgeschlagen werden.
Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche
Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 4 Oktober verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 5 Oktober. Auf allen Wikis ab 6 Oktober (Kalender).- Diskussionsseiten in der mobilen Ansicht werden in den Wikipedia-Sprachversionen auf Arabisch, Bengalisch, Chinesisch, Französisch, Haitianisch, Hebräisch, Koreanisch und Vietnamesisch geändert. Sie sollen einfacher zu nutzen sein und mehr Informationen bieten. (Die Veröffentlichung letzte Woche hat sich verzögert) [3] [4]

- Wikibase Working Hour! 25 October 2022, 2pm Eastern (Time zone converter) Amy Ruskin of Northeastern University Library, will speak on the topic of Wikidata vs. custom Wikibases: Community history case studies, Boston’s Chinatown. The Boston Research Center (BRC) is a digital community history and archives lab based in the Northeastern University Library. One of our current projects involves taking an inventory of historical materials related to Boston’s Chinatown, and we have been using Wikibase to store multilingual data about the linked collections, organizations, and people. In this presentation, we will discuss our experience of getting started with a custom Wikibase and give an overview of our progress so far on the Chinatown Collections project. Amy Ruskin is the Data Engineer in the Digital Scholarship Group in the Northeastern University Library. Probleme
- In der letzten Woche konnten drei Wikis (Französischsprachige Wikipedia, Japanischsprachige Wikipedia, Russischsprachige Wikipedia) für 25 Minuten nur gelesen, aber nicht bearbeitet werden. Dies wurde durch ein Hardwareproblem verursacht. [11]
Anstehende Änderungen im Verlauf der Woche
- Die neue Version der MediaWiki-Software wird auf dem Testwiki und MediaWiki.org ab 25 Oktober verfügbar sein. Auf Nicht-Wikipedia-Wikis und einigen Wikipedias vom 26 Oktober. Auf allen Wikis ab 27 Oktober (Kalender).
- Aufgrund eines Wechsels der Haupt-Datenbank werden einige Wikis ein paar Minuten im Lesemodus sein. Dieser erfolgt am 25 Oktober um 9:00 MESZ (betroffene Wikis) und am 27 Oktober um 9:00 MESZ (betroffene Wikis).
- Ab Mittwoch erhalten einige Wikipedien die Link-Vorschlagsfunktion (Assamesische Wikipedia, Baschkirische Wikipedia, Balinesische Wikipedia, Bairische Wikipedia, Samogitische Wikipedia, Zentralbikolanosprachige Wikipedia, Weißrussische Wikipedia, Weißrussische Wikipedia mit klassischer (Taraškievica-)Rechtschreibung, Bulgarischsprachige Wikipedia, Bhodschpurisprachige Wikipedia, Bislamasprachige Wikipedia, Banjaresische Wikipedia, Bambarasprachige Wikipedia, Bishnupriyasprachige Wikipedia, Bretonische Wikipedia, Bosnischsprachige Wikipedia, Buginesische Wikipedia, Burjatische Wikipedia, Indonesische Wikipedia). Dies ist Teil der progressiven Einführung des Werkzeugs in weitere Wikipedien. Die Gemeinschaften können konfigurieren, wie diese Funktion lokal funktioniert. [12]
- Ab Mittwoch, dem 26. Oktober 2022, wird die Liste von Lotsen in Wikis, in denen das Growth-Lotsensystem verfügbar ist, verbessert. Das Lotsensystem wird weiterhin wie bisher funktionieren. Der Prozess zur Registrierung als Lotse wird ersetzt und eine neue Verwaltungsfunktion wird angeboten. Diese Änderung vereinfacht die Erstellung von Lotsensystemen in Wikipedias. [13][14][15]
- Seiten mit Titeln, die mit einem Kleinbuchstaben nach Unicode 11 beginnen, werden umbenannt oder gelöscht. Es gibt eine Liste betroffener Seiten auf m:Unicode 11 case map migration. Weitere Informationen finden sich in T292552.
