Blütezeit der Alpen-Herbstzeilose

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Despite most references report that Colchicum alpinum flowers in August-September (publication bias?), all the pictures I have taken in several locations in Oisans, France were taken in July (12-07-2009, 11-07-2011, 22-07-2013 and 17-07-2014), when the leaf of the common Colchicum autumnale were still fading, and about two weeks before the first flowers of Colchicum autumnale were emerging. The picture of it by Teun Spaans taken in Val Ferret, Switzerland was photographed in the first half of August (11-08-2009).

It is well know that Colchicum autumnale is flowering about two weeks later in lowland than in the mountains. Presumably the same occurs for Colchicum alpinum. In the Botanical Garden KIT, Karlsruhe, Germany it was flowering on 17 August 2009. In my own garden I took pictures of it on 17 August 2012 and today the first bud of Colchicum alpinum is emerging. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (Diskussion) 10:51, 25. Leo Jellito and Wilhelm Schacht write on p. 154 of their book Hardy Herbaceous Perennial, Timber Press, 1995 - ISBN 0-88192-159-9: "A small (in all respects), early-flowering (after midsummer) version of C. autumnale; lime-intolerant, difficult, collectors' plant." Flora italiana on-line confirms that C. alpinum is flowering July-September [1]. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (Diskussion) 20:21, 25. Jul. 2014 (CEST)Beantworten
I have also added info about the size of corm and the capsule fruit. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (Diskussion) 11:04, 26. Jul. 2014 (CEST)Beantworten
I think that the page is now more accurate and also better referenced. The last two references, which I have added, confim that the plants grows on lime-free soils and provide with more precision on the altitude range on which it is growing. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (Diskussion) 11:10, 29.
