Ungefähr genau

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

„mit einer Bevölkerung von circa 97,027 Einwohnern“ – könnten es auch 97,0265 oder 97,02713 gewesen sein? Oder (eher) 97.027,4 bzw. 97.026,73? Da ich noch keine Tausendstel Einwohner gesehen habe und Orte von weniger als 100 Einwohnern hier für nicht unbedingt erwähnenswert halte, werde ich die anscheinend falsche Zeichensetzung korrigieren. Aber „ungefähr genau“ ist eine Sache … -- 87.163.109.184 22:14, 19. Aug. 2008 (CEST)Beantworten

Name der Stadt

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Correct oficial name of the city is Bender (mold), Бендеры (rus), Bendery (eng). "Tighina" is an old name of the city and it's not oficial now.

Please, be correct !

Any references to verify that? I saw the discussion on english WP but no real consense. Please provide substantial information to verify the current official name. -- murli (Post) 09:44, 4. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten

CHECK THIS OUT

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/MD.html

It's the official information.

PLEASE, CHANGE THE NAME OF THE CITY TO THE CORRECT ONE (BENDER)

Is there no information of Moldavian origin? -- j.budissin+/- 07:58, 7. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten
Here is the law in the language of the state (Romanian language) from government site with the name of the city BENDER. There cannot be discussion against official law of the county which confirms long-established name.
As long as there are sources, there's no need for a long discussion. -- j.budissin+/- 07:47, 10. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten
The Moldovan Bureau of Statistics seems to confirm the name Bender as the official one: 1 2 3, as do various laws accessible on the moldova.md site. (Most references to Tighina are about a Tighina Street in Chişinău.) Move recommended, but Bender is a disambiguation. Bender (Stadt), perhaps? Though that's ugly. --20% 16:51, 10. Bender (Stadt) seems the correct lemma for that City ... in addition to the official papers you mention here, it would be interesting when the city was renamed by moldavian authorities. Maybe it's like with Transnistria, it's an defacto-status but there is no dejure-status that can be verified in any official law. Anyway, Bender seems correct when referencing to these official papers and laws. -- murli (Post) 17:04, 10. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten
No idea. In the 1998 law on territorial organization, the city was part of the district of Tighina, but the city name was given as Bender as well. The districts have since been reorganized. In the previous law (1994) Tighina is not mentioned at all. So it probably never was official for the city itself. --20% 17:23, 10. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten

AFAIK, the city was meant to be renamed to Tighina during a wave of similar renames in 1991 all over the country. However, the attempt was dropped after Moldova lost control over the city in the ensung conflict. Anyhow, the intent has somehow made it into many English language encyclopediae, which use Tighina even now. On the other hand, the city gained some limited reknown because it was the focal point in the war, and most of the available English language scholarly sources about the war seem to use Bender(y). This was the primary reason for renaming the English page to its current name. For the German language, the following must be considered: 1) the official name of the city is Bender; 2) but which name is actually used in German? That "deutsch/türkisch Bender" seems to point to an existing German exonym, but it could be historical. --Illythr 02:36, 11. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten

The name was used in the german language when the Bessarabiendeutsche were living in the city and nearby villages. As the currently used name is also Bender, there should be no problem with it, but when considering the WP:NK, the german name would not be the name of the article. Anyone who moves from Tighina to Bender? -- murli (Post) 09:42, 11. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten

Done. Waiting for the complaints. --20% 17:18, 11. Nov. 2008 (CET)Beantworten

Thank you guys for renaming the article! I appreciate this.
