Pastrengo

Sorry, but Pastrengo charge was not made by Corazzieri. The regiment was disbanded in 1842 and restablished in 1868. So, at the time (1848), it was a standard mounted carabinieri regiment who performed the war episode. Italian reference here --EH101 (it.wiki)

That's true. I have made the necessary changes in the text. Nevertheless the Pastrengo part should remain in the article. The mounted Carabinieri unit that accompanied the King in the battle of Pastrengo was nothing else than a life guard unit and exercised duties that later would have been carried out by what are today's Corazzieri. Since the latter claim that their traditions go back to the cited unit of the counts of Savoy and that there is, indeed, a functional continuity as far as those life guard units are concerned, I believe that there is enough reason to leave it that way. I'm sure that there is a reason for the fact, that today's Corazzieri installations are named after Negri di Sanfront. The text now referrs to a (generic) mounted carabinieri unit that performed life guard duties.Empar 01:06, 21. Mai 2007 (CEST)
