Geburtsdatum

Nach Einsatz von Google dürfte in der Tat der 8. März richtig sein. Der Eintrag 2. März geht offenbar zurück auf einen Fehler im englischen Artikel, der ein wenig Verbreitung fand, bevor er dann mit diesem Edit [1] verbessert wurde. --WAH 17:43, 14. Aug. 2007 (CEST)

If I may - are you sure, that he was Ukrainian player? After SU collapse since FRL Jul 1992 he was recorded as Russian player. Regards pjahr 19:10, 14. Aug. 2007 (CEST)

Hi pjahr, we did not talk about him being a Ukrainian player. I just mentioned that since his name is transcribed from the Ukrainian Ефим Геллер (he was born in Odessa), his father's name Petrovich does not have to be part of the article name. In case his name was transcribed from Russian Ефим Петрович Геллер the articles title would be ... well, you know what I mean. :-) But since you seem to have the sources, I'll kick him out of the Ukrainian category and move him to the Russian one. --Gereon K. 20:26, 14. I am very glad that we talk like this. On pl:wiki I am alone... BTW - I really don't know that he wasn't Ukrainian player - at en:wiki we can read He won four Ukrainian Championship titles, in 1950, 1957, 1958, and 1959.. He was born in Ukraine - that's a fact. I only noticed, that on FIDE rating lists he has never been recorded as Ukrainian player. In Litmanowicz/Giżycki "Szachy od A do Z" there is written Geller Jefim - soviet chessplayer :) That's all, but there is also written that he played in Ukrainian championships. During the Sowjet Union there were Latvian Championships, Estonian Championships and so forth but that still would only qualify him germanwikipediawise for Category:Schachspieler (Sowjetunion). Before 1921 or after 1991 (or somesuch), that's what counts for Ukrainian or Moldovian or any other of the 15 progenitors resp. successors. Well, I'm sorry to hear that you're alone in the Polish wikipedia. I assume that because there are more German speakers than Polish speakers, the chances are bigger here that there are more writers interested in chess. Irgendwie kann ich nicht glauben, dass er auf Ukrainisch Ефим hieß.Die Ukrainer haben eine Macke, Namen zu übersetzen, und russische Ефим's werden im Ukrainischen zu Юхим.--Alexmagnus 00:09, 17. Dez. 2007 (CET)
