Schildphalanx?
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Wäre hier statt Schildphalanx nicht Schildwall zutreffender? ConjurerDragon 10:12, 22. Aug. 2007 (CEST)
- Ja, die angelsächsische Formation in der Schlacht bei Hastings war ein Schildwall. Habe es eben geändert. --The real Marcoman 02:15, 7. Feb. 2011 (CET)
Fyrd und Leidang
[Quelltext bearbeiten]There is considerable iw-confusion because the German Wikipedia as the only one have separate articles about Fyrd and Leidang. As the article Leidang says, king Håkon Adalsteinsfostre probably organized the Norwegian leidang after model of the English fyrd when he came home from England. So there is probably no more reason to have a separate article about the English fyrd than to split the Norwegian leidang, the Danish leding and the swedish ledung in separate articles; all are essentially the same phenomenom. But of course when the articles starts to grow big and at length discusses the finer details in organization a division would be sensible, but as of now it looks like one article is the best.
