Vielleicht wäre es sinnvoll, wenigstens die Bedeutung der weiteren Buchstaben zu erklären. Es muss ja nicht so ausführlich sein wie für die Grösse :)

Bei der Größe könnte eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche (vielleicht in Klammern dahinter) nicht schaden

wie versteckt man denn bitte code im header einer email ?

• Laut RFC kann man im Header beliebige optionale Felder angeben, solange die Feldnamen nicht mit denen der offiziellen Felder kollidieren. Man kann also z.B. das Header-Field "geekcode: GIT d- s+;+ ..." in den Header einfuegen (hier kann man um RFC-konform zu bleiben u.a. keine Doppelpunkte verwenden). Wie das bei Deinem MUA funktioniert steht entweder in der Anleitung, bei der Suchmaschine Deines Vertrauens oder Du erfragst es beim Hersteller deines MUAs. Und versteckt ist es im Header deswegen, weil geschaetzte 99% der User die Headerzeilen von ihrem MUA nicht anzeigen lassen bzw. diese nicht lesen. --23:50, 4. Mär. 2009 (CET)

Übersetzung?

Ich habe mal das Beispiel von Ungeek übersetzen lassen und die Übersetzungen hier als Mouseover-Hilfetexte eingebunden. Dabei gehe ich davon aus, dass uns niemand wegen der Urheberrechte an den Karren pinkeln wird. Schön wäre, wenn sich noch deutsche Übersetzungen dazugesellen würden. Ich selber fühle mich des Englischen nicht so mächtig, dass ich mir prägnante deutsche Formulierungen, die aber gleichzeitig den Spirit der Originale behalten, zutrauen würde.

Gleich kommt per Copy & Paste die Ausgabe von ungeek. Oben habe ich mal angefangen, aber schon beim zweiten Satz überkommt mich die Unsicherheit.

Also, wer sich berufen fühlt, möge hier beitragen. Das Reinfummeln in die Mouseover-Syntax übernehme ich dann gerne.

   I read all the news in a select handful of groups.

   I'm still trying to install MS Windows and have at least one peripheral that never works right.

   I am Bill Gates of Borg. OS/2 is irrelevant.

   A mac has it's uses and I use it quite often.

   I would rather smash my head repeatedly into a brick wall than suffer the agony of working with VMS. It's reminiscent of a dead and decaying pile of moose droppings. Unix rules the universe.

   My whole concept of liberalism is that nobody has the right to tell anybody else what to do, on either side of the political fence. If you don't like it, turn the bloody channel.

   Distrust both government and business.

   I have an interest and concern in privacy issues, but in reality I am not really all that active or vocal.

   I have the most recent version and use it regularly 

Trek: t--

   Star Trek is just another Space Opera. William Shatner isn't an actor, he's a poser! And what's with this Jean-Luc Picard? A Frenchman with a British accent? Come on. I'd only watch this show if my remote control broke. Isn't Voyager just a rehash of Lost in Space? Has Sisko even breathed in the last two seasons? 

Babylon 5: 5++

   Finally a show that shows what a real future would look like. None of this Picardian "Let's talk about it and be friends." crap. And what's this? We finally get to see a bathroom! Over on that Enterprise, they've been holding it for over seven years! 

X-Files: X++

   This is one of the better shows I've seen. I wish I'd taped everything from the start at SP, because I'm wearing out my EP tapes. I'll periodically debate online. I've Converted at least 5 people. I've gotten a YAXA.. 

Roleplaying: R--

   Role-Players are instruments of pure evil. 

Television: tv-

   I watch tv for the news and 'special programming'. 

Books: b++

   I find the time to get through at least one new book a month. 

Dilbert: DI

   I read Dilbert infrequently, rarely understanding it

   I've played the shareware version and bought the real one and I'm actually pretty good at the game. I occasionally download PWAD files and play them too.

   What a tremendous waste of time this Geek Code is.

   Living with one or more people who know nothing about being a Geek and refuse to watch Babylon 5.
