Diskussion:Hans Franke (Komponist)

Wenn man Hans Frankes Klavierkonzert F-Dur anhört, kann man - vielleicht den humorvollen Finalsatz ausgenommen, gar nicht glauben, dass dies ein Werk des 20.Jahrhunderts sein soll. Alles klingt mehr nach Joh.Nepomuk Hummel oder andere Komponisten der Beethoven-Ära. Als ich dieses Konzert im Rundfunk mit Oliver Triendl am Klavier hörte und die Ansagerin bemerkte, dass Franke 1971 gestorben sei, dachte ich zunächst, dass man versehentlich ein nicht zu diesem Komponisten gehörendes Werk gesendet habe. Da waren andere heute vergessene Komponisten der NS-Zeit wie etwa Paul Graener schon wesentlich mutiger in der musikalischen Gestaltung ihrer Werke. (Yeni Cifci)

At this point

most of the manuscript and recorded music attributed to “Hans Franke” has been determined to have been composed by a variety of others (as early as Wölfl as I mentioned, to works from 1910-or-later) and the closest analogue to his fascination as a composer is the fascination of Joyce Hatto (her later “work”, not her actual earlier performances) as a pianist. more recently, some of his incipits have been looked at, and clearly match those of works by other composers (eg his "symphony no.4" with Alban Förster's symphony in E, his string quartet no.3 with Aleksandr Kopylov's string quartet no.3 in A - etc.)- just as the piano concerto and "symphony no.6 in A minor" recorded on disc match entirely note for note works by Wölfl and Fritz Kauffmann. Some editing of this page may be warranted as it still claims that he composed these symphonies and piano concerto, etc. where the evidence is not strong for this. ELSchissel (Diskussion) 16:37, 13.
