Diskussion:Johann Jakob Widmann
Überarbeiten
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Johann Jakob Widmann is my fourth great grandfather, paternal lineage. I have information to add about his time in the United States.
Johann and his son Adolph traveled on the Ship Creole from Havre, France to New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S., arriving on October 16, 1849. His wife, Katharine Louisa Nothwang, followed with the rest of the children to the U.S. in 1852. From New Orleans, they traveled by covered wagon to California, in hopes of finding riches during the Gold Rush. They settled in San Francisco. Katharina died just weeks after arriving in California.
Johann became naturalized as a U.S. Citizen on November 2, 1864. Naturalization was registered with the U.S. Circuit Court in San Francisco in August 1866.
Johann died in August 1876.
Adolph died in 1893.
Many of the Widmann children married and remained in the San Francisco area.
I have documentation if anyone is interested in learning more.
