Frage

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Jan. 2014 (CET)Beantworten

Munitions

[Quelltext bearbeiten]

I was stationed with the 259th MP Company (1977-78), which worked the Exclusionary Area (X-Area) in the center of the Ammunition Storage Area. There, stored in (if I remember correctly) six bunkers were the "items." These consisted of everything from tactical backpack devices and artillery rounds to Pershing missile warheads. In the bunkers they were stored, tested, and reassembled. Our job was to guard and transport the devices. We moved them over the ground from Miesau to Ramstein AFB where they would be loaded aboard a C-5A for transport to (we were told) Dover, Delaware. If inter-Europe, we rode shotgun on helicopter air missions (usually two chinooks, four Hueys, two Cobras and a CNC Huey), usually to French or British Storage Areas. --184.20.96.65 17:13, 15.
