Frühlings Erwachen - not by CPE Bach though often claimed to be because of the composer's name ("Emanuel Bach" or "E. Bach")
[Quelltext bearbeiten]Not by JS Bach's son CPE Bach, but by a 19th-century composer Emanuel Bach (or perhaps simply "E. Bach"- perhaps Leonhard Emil Bach; guesses as to his identity continue.) This work was quickly and mistakenly taken up and re-arranged by many composers as a lost work by CPE Bach; it seems that CPE Bach may have composed a work by the name Frühlings Erwachen that actually has been lost, which adds to the confusion, but unless the later composer found the CPE Bach work and wrote a very 19th-century version of it (itself unlikely though not inconceivable), there seems otherwise to be no possible connection?
