Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob das für diesen Artikel wirklich relevant ist: (1) Im September hat Niranjan Vikas Tambe das Paket unitipa freigegeben, mit dem gewöhnliche Unicode-Zeichenketten in TIPA-Text kompiliert werden können und das in TeX Live sowie MiKTeX bereits enthalten ist, siehe https://ctan.org/pkg/unitipa. (2) Damit in Zusammenhang steht, was die International Phonetic Association auf ihrer Seite IPA charts and sub-charts in four fonts berichtet: "We now also offer the chart in a TeX TIPA Roman (serif) font. This font has been selected by the IPA’s Alphabet Charts and Fonts committee from the fonts created by Prof. Rei as best representing the IPA’s symbol set. The unitipa font used is a version of tipa8, the initial product of the committee’s current project to produce a Unicode-compliant version of the original font." Der Alphabettabellen- und Schriften-Ausschuss der Association ist also übereingekommen, dass tipa8 die Schrift ist, die ihre IPA-Zeichen am besten wiedergibt.
