infobox und bilder

bei der englischen wikipedia sind zwei bilder mit dabei die ich hier in dem artikel einbinden wollte. hat leider bisher nicht geklappt. vielleicht kann sich ja jemand kuemmern der n bissl mehr ahnung hat. ansonsten wuerde ich mich einfach mal mit der ganzen sache vertraut machen.

hab auch ne infobox geschrieben, weiss jetzt aber nicht welche freigaben das spiel hat. hab auch nichts weiter dazu gefunden. auch hier meine bitte: vielleicht weiss jemand was und kann die box auf den neusten stand bringen. -- 89.196.25.131 11:40, 27. Jul. 2008 (CEST) jan g

Tank Time

Bin gerade durch einen Referer auf meiner Website darauf aufmerksam geworden, dass dieser Artikel unter Weblinks meinen uralten Tank Wars Clone Tank Time referenziert. Stört mich natürlich nicht, aber angesichts dem Gehabe bei anderen Artikeln, wo sogar Links zu Wikis entfernt werden, die exakt das Thema behandeln, worum es in dem Artikel geht, könnte es sein, dass das von Wikipedia selbst so nicht gewünscht ist. Vielleicht ist der Link auch einfach falsch und jemand dachte, es handelt sich bei meinem Spiel um Tank Wars selbst. Also wer immer sich zuständig fühlt, bitte mal prüfen, ob der Link angebracht ist. Tank Wars

Forgive me: I don't speak German. There's some confusion about Tank Wars. Moby Games has entries for two games called Tank Wars. One is by Kenny Morse and was released in 1990 (https://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/tank-wars__). Another was created by Cory Snider and released in 1986 (https://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/tank-wars_). This article is clearly about the more advanced game by Kenny Morse. Cory Snider's version is not noteworthy; it's basically a graphical version of GORILLAS.BAS. Morse's game included up to 10 players and was similar to Scorched Earth. Thanks, obviously you are correct about two games that were previously mixed up in this article. The only working weblink linked to the MobyGames page of the earlier one and also that is what this article is referenced by on Artillery (Computerspiel), indicated by the release year. That's why I assumed it was about this one. But the game's description clearly depicts the 1990 game. Still you could have just changed the release year and author and not just undo everything I edited.

Moreover what I noted in my edit comment is that of course MS-DOS games also run on other, MS-DOS compatible systems. That's the whole point of compatibility. On the other hand DOS is not a correct term for the platform, as DOS may include more than just MS-DOS and its compatible systems, e. g. Apple DOS. In the german language Wikipedia we do not use PC as a platform, as that also includes Mac and Linux PCs (which is handled differently in en Wikipedia, AFAIK). The videogame infobox template precisely lists possible values, based on several discussions that were already held about this. According to this and what is commonly used in de.wikipedia, „MS-DOS“ is the recommended term for all MS-DOS comaptible games. Regards --Emberwit (Diskussion) 23:24, 4. Apr. 2021 (CEST)
