[Quelltext bearbeiten]C.H.Wendel, Standard Catalog of Farm Tractors 1890 - 1980, 2nd ed., Iola, WI, 2005, S.332-333: "William Galloway Company was incorporated at Waterloo, Iowa, in 1906... In 1916, the Galloway Farmobile tractor appeared, continuing in production until 1919.... Rated at 12 drawbar and 20 belt hp, it used a four-cylinder engine with 4 1/2 x 5 inch bore and stroke. Galloway made a deal with Great Britain after World War I to sell a substantial number of tractors in the British Isles. History has it that many of the tractors never left the Port of New Orleans where they were to be loaded onto the ships for export. Legend has it that Galloway didn't get paid, and as a result, went into bankruptcy. Various factors contributed to Galloway's failure, with the tractor being one of several causes."
