Early English Text Society
Die Early English Text Society (EETS; dt. Frühenglische Textgesellschaft) ist eine englische Sprachgesellschaft, die 1864 zu veröffentlichen begann und noch fortlaufend erscheint. Ihr Ziel war es, alle frühen Texte in englischer Sprache zu drucken, die bisher nur durch handschriftliche oder sehr seltene Exemplare bekannt waren. Dieses Projekt wurde in Verbindung mit der Erstellung des Oxford English Dictionary durchgeführt.
Bandübersicht
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]In der folgenden Übersicht werden die Veröffentlichungen der Early-English-Text-Society-Buchreihe mit ihren Nummer, Titel und zusätzlichen Informationen aufgelistet. Einige der teils exzentrischen Schreibweise wurden unverändert belassen, und einige wurden in Klammern gegenüber modernen Äquivalenten korrigiert. Angaben zu den Daten für die Texte sind ungefähre und sie beziehen sich auf die Abfassung oder die Übersetzung der englischen Fassung, die oft Jahrhunderte später als das Entstehungsdatum des ursprünglichen Textes sind. Früher wurden die Publikationen von Boydell & Brewer vertrieben, jetzt direkt von der Early English Text Society.[1]
Die verwendeten Abkürzungen sind: OS = Original Series und ES = Extra Series. (Die Angaben erfolgen überwiegend nach 'piereligion.org')
