Mohamed Haji Mukhtar

Mohamed Haji Mukhtar (* 13. Juni 1947 in Bakool, Somalia) ist Professor für Geschichte Afrikas und des Nahen Ostens an der Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia. Er ist Autor mehrerer Publikationen über Geschichte und Gesellschaft Somalias und den Islam. Mukhtar gehört dem Clan der Leysan-Rahanweyn an und ist auch als Fürsprecher des von den Rahanweyn gesprochenen Maay-Dialekts der somalischen Sprache bekannt.
