Report from Celestinesucess at Wikimania 2019 in Stockholm
What bring I back from Wikimania for me and my work in Wikipedia?
[Quelltext bearbeiten]...
- I learnt a lot about partnerships and story telling which I intend to apply in helping me establish more sustainable partnerships with organizations and individuals.
- I also learnt that the focus of education projects should not be getting the students to write a lot of articles but to ensure that they are able to acquire useful skills such as writing, online communication, research skills and digital skills. I intend to apply this when implementing Wiki Tours the North Project.
What have I learned in the chosen topic area (international exchange or movement strategy)?

What have I contributed to the conference? What worked out well and what not?
[Quelltext bearbeiten]- As a session presenter
Together with my tandem partner User:Gereon K. I made a presentation on How to teach Wikipedia in languages that are not taught in school in the language space. The attendance was great and unexpected. The presentation was interactive as attendant kept asking questions and making inputs. Upon seeing pictures of our presentation on facebook, Asaf showed interest, who works on increasing contribution to small language Wikipedias as well.
- As a volunteer
- In other areas
- I did a video speaking in Twi for Wiki Tongues team
- I did an interview with Spancer Graves
Which ideas for projects or similar activities came into existence? How have I pursued them so far, what are my plans for the future?
[Quelltext bearbeiten]...
Which contacts to international Wikimedians have I made or foster, on which topics? How do they affect my activities in Wikipedia or its sister projects, and how do I intend to carry on dialogue?

- I am happy to have met James Heilman to collect two internet-in-a-box from him for Wiki Tours the North Project
- I am glad to have met with User: MB-one whom I have worked with on both Wikimedia and non Wikimedia related projects
- I am grateful to have met Amir Ahorni again who gave me some inspiration for new projects to embark on
