Voting restriction

I find it interesting that voting is limited to those who have contributed more than a certain number of edits to this site. This is a VIEWING filter, not an editing filter, so why should there be a restriction based on editing. You are basically saying that if I only come here to read, then I have no rights to have an opinion on what I see. Plainly less than ideal, and if you had to have any restriction it should probably based on time on the wiki, not the number of edits. Billinghurst 17:17, 24. Sep. 2011 (CEST)

Hello Billinghurst. Voting is limited according to Wikipedia:Stimmberechtigung in any poll in this project. The reason is that those who author and edit the encyclopaedia are responsible for its content. Quite general, it is common practice for any publication in print or online, that the authors and editors are responsible for the form and content of the publication.

The proposed image filter is not just a "viewing filter". Encyclopaedic project usually don't engage in the production of viewing filter. But the proposed image filter relies on filter categories, which are supposed to be created and maintained within the encyclopaedic project.

The de.wikipedia does not say that if you only come here to read, then you have no rights to have an opinion on what you see. No one hinders you to use your own image filter, text filter or other viewing filter when you read the encyclopaedia. E.g. you can easily use your css-page or your Browser preferences to see no image at all, or to exclude a list of certain images.
