Hi, apologies for pinging you there. I wanted to keep the conversation in a single place with just a specific question for you, but I realize that this was confusing and will keep that in mind. Back to the technical question, I'd like to thank you for the detailed explanation. What I did is disable the dewikisource gadget via safemode, then went to the page where menuSwitcher is used, and manually entered the gadget code in the console, so I assume the document was ready by that point (if you'd like to test this yourself, this is the page I'm using and this is the gadget). While this worked with the string selector (".wikiEditor-ui-text"), it didn't work when I used something like $('.prp-page-container').parent(). In fact, it doesn't work even if I just switch the current selector to a jQuery object ($('.wikiEditor-ui-text')). Am I doing something wrong? I've read the help page with the help of google translator, but I'm not sure I understand it. That said, I think I found a solution for dewikisource which doesn't require getting a parent node, so up to you whether you want to invest any time in checking the script or fixing any eventual bug.
