- September — Dolly Parton erhält eine eigene Fernsehshow: Dolly. Trotz eines viel versprechenden Starts und hohem Zuschauerinteresse wurde die Show von der Kritik verrissen. Nach einem ständigen Rückgang der Zuschauerzahlen wurde die Serie 1988 eingestellt.[1]
